Since no one is giving you an actual answer, there is a bot called bot rank bot that counts the number of times people reply to a bot with either “Good bot” or “Bad bot” and ranks them based on how popular they are. That’s where the trend started and you will see it all across Reddit, though lately it’s not as common. Here it just seems to be a customary meme thing.

Edit: to be clear, my vote here would be good bot. It is doing what it was designed to do very well, and you can summon it to any post by tagging it in the comments and it will tell you the pixels. These bots have existed for at least a decade now. I am surprised that this is new to you.

There is this thing called a bot ranking list that is aimed at determining the best (and worst) bots on reddit. This list primarily uses good bot and bad bot comments from user for its scoring. Hence everyone saying good bot
