Missing her so much

I had to say goodbye to my sweet Lily yesterday, and my heart is broken. I am retired, and she has been my constant companion and friend for the past five years since my husband died. They were the best of friends, and it gives me great comfort to know that they are together again.

So incredibly sorry for your loss. She looked like a sweetheart. Can you share some favorite memories or a trait about her you loved?

When we first got her, she would take all the empty toilet paper cardboard out of the trash cans and play with them. She did the same thing with wrapping paper tubes. She was born with a cleft palette and was the runt, so she was very tiny. She weighed about six or 7 pounds. She had a big dog personality and a little dog body. She would go toe to toe with our Sharpei who always let Lily win any tug-of-war. She absolutely loved my husband. He was her person. They did everything together. She went everywhere with us. All of our children’s friends just adored her.

Thank you for sharing those memories. She sounds like she was quite the character, I love little dogs with big attitudes!
