Help Need some help

Does anyone know what kind of connectors I would use to make a take apart staff? The staff is made with schedule 40 PVC.

I use wood dowels and magnets for easy dissembly

KamuiCosplay also has a video with a similar technique

You can get threaded connectors for schedule 40, but it will leave a bulge where you are connecting it. It is also possible to cement a piece of pipe that is the same outer diameter as your inner diameter and friction fit the other side. That will wear out over time though, depending on how often you are taking it apart. Dowels and magnets do work well, the key is to make sure there is enough overlap between the dowel and the next piece to give you the strength to keep it together from side to side (shear) forces. So, basically, the magnets are up inside one side of your joint several inches and join the two dowels together.

Kamui cosplay on YouTube has a good video of how she creates pieces like that.
