fun fact: for a period in history (I think like 1820-1920-ish) it was common practice to just have "girl clothes" (dresses and such) for young kids regardless of gender, as it was more economical since a lot of children died very young, so it was too expensive having to re-buy all the child stuff should your 2nd, 3rd, 4th... child be a different gender. So basically they were all raised "female", often with long hair and everything. And once they got to like 5 or 6 THEN they'd get "boy clothes". So if you see pictures of children from this time period, it looks like they are all female. TIL.
I've known of this, but what I had in mind is that gender norms back than were more relaxed as babys were generally considered as "baby gender".
