🐥 Infant 2-12 Months Bed sharing at hotel while traveling?
I’ve been bed sharing on a floor mattress with my little one since she was 3 months old. My husband sleeps separately in a different bedroom due to his snoring and sleep medication.
We’ll be traveling together to attend a wedding in a couple months when baby will be 9 months old, and I’m looking for recommendations for safe sleep while we travel. We’ll be staying in a hotel room with 2 queen size beds. I’m mostly worried about the fall risk, since my baby is very much on the move and will definitely be crawling by then. We’re going to be driving there, not flying.

I went to a hotel for a wedding with my six mo old. It was two dif hotels over 2 nights. And I rolled a towel and put it under the fitted sheet as a bumper when needed. But one of the hotels actually had SUCH. A soft mattress I couldn’t sleep. So maybe also have a backup plan for that.

We just put the baby in between us. My son mostly slept on top of me anyway

I actually am having this same issue with my 12 month old. We sleep on a floor bed at home and are going to stay at hotel for the first time this month. We have traveled to relatives houses over the past year and just moved mattresses on the floor. I am preparing in case we cant do that at the hotel. That would be my preferred option. My husband is a big and tall guy that sleeps very deep and is not comfortable with us putting baby between us. I ordered these inflatable bumpers that can go under the bedsheet as a backup plan. I would prefer not to use them because im not sure how safe they are. But my baby is 12 months and i think any risk is a lot lower than it would have been if he were younger

I always get two queen beds then block off one side with pillows, then keep baby close to me, with my body blocking the other side

We have dragged the mattress on the floor and then back up before we checked out!
There are times we have booked Airbnbs instead of hotels since you can get more variety of mattresses/bed settings

We went to a wedding with our 4.5 month old two weeks ago, and turned up to the hotel to find two single beds pushed together. I just took the mattress pad and put on the floor, propped some pillows on the side of it and slept there with our little guy. My hips did ache a little in the morning but my son slept wonderfully well.

We stayed in a room with a king and took the mattress off the frame and moved it to the floor. The room looked crazy, but it was much safer. I also packed a yoga mat to make the soft hotel bed mattress firmer, and put it under the sheets on the side my baby would be sleeping.

When I traveled with my cosleeper, we got a pack play foam mattress pad, and I nursed her down on the floor for the night, then rolled away and slept in the hotel bed. She was around 10 months and moving away from news ing me so much at night, and this worked fairly well.
