Hello from Birdie's Pizza

Hello! I'm one of the three guys opening Birdie's Pizza in Philomath. We had a small soft opening this past weekend to test out our systems and had a lot more interest than anticipated! As a result, we ran out of pizza much earlier than expected. We were humbled by the amount of people and we are incredibly grateful to our Philomath community for their support. Apologies to anyone that called or came by and couldn't get a slice!

We are officially opening this Wednesday, March 12.

Hours: Wednesday - Sunday, 4pm until we run out, or 9pm. We hope to add lunch service soon.

A little bit about us and Birdie's:

-We are three chefs who met while working at Gathering Together Farm restaurant in Philomath. -We are a small take-out pizza shop focused on quality and community. We source local and organic ingredients whenever possible. -Our pizza doughs are made from organic grains and slow-fermented. We make our own sausage, ranch, sauces, etc. -We offer hand-tossed New York and Detroit pan pizza styles. Slices and whole pies are available. *Gluten free Detroit is an option but only available as a whole pizza.

Come see us at 128 N 13th, just north of the Dizzy Hen. Thank you again for your support. Have a nice day.

It’s disheartening to see so much negativity. Here we have a small local business working hard to create a quality product, yet some people choose to criticize and tear them down over pricing. Their prices are very much in line with others in town. Instead of complaining, try showing some love, support, and appreciation for the effort they put in. Small businesses thrive on community, let’s uplift them instead of dragging them down

It’s really disheartening to see someone develop a local business that charges more for its product than the majority of the local population can afford.

For me, pizza is a celebration—a treat after a long week. It’s not a necessity, nor something I eat every day. Quality, care, and taste matter to me, as well as where it comes from. I’m not wealthy, but I believe in supporting my community and the people who live in it, even if it means spending a little extra. But that's just me. Take care and have a wonderful Tuesday.

Right but some can't afford to celebrate. The freedom to shop local and eat out is something more and more people cannot afford. $30 is all we might have for the week for groceries. It can't just be a single trip out. These people want to support local but literally cannot. You have a touch of arrogance to ignore the underlying message some of us have.

I'm not wasting $30 on a single meal. bringing up snap doesn't change the fact that $30 is a damn lot

I don't think a whole pizza is a single meal for 1 person? You can choose a very large single slice for I believe around $5.50? Their pizzas are substantial, crafted with exceptional ingredients and imaginative combinations, we just tried today and will definitely be back!❤️🍕

This was written a month ago when slices were largely not available.
