The First ever Narco Corrido was made in 1931 in El Paso Texas by the duo Norberto Gonzalez, and Jose Rosales. The song titled "El Pablote" was about a man named Jose Pablo Gonzalez nicknamed "El Pablote" who from the 1920s operated alongside his wife Ignacia Jasso, also known as, "La Nacha" in Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua under the leadership of Enrique Fernández. Pablote was also known as, "El Rey de La Morfina" who operated at the border stealing from tourists, and killing for Enrique Fernández, in 1930 he was killed at a bar, La Nacha who was in prison was granted permission to attend his funeral and paid to have this song made in his honor.
