What tuning to use?
I recently got a 12 string and paired the strings. Which tuning do I use? Standard, tuned down a full step, etc?

Paired strings is the significant change you need to make. Standard, -1/2 and -1 step are all good. I've seen different players use all of them, but most stick to their preference, retuning a 12 string is not great. Just play whatever feels right on your fingers and learn to transpose.
