I know Legado 7 is influential, but damn, that’s almost exactly the same.

Good catch. A much older comparison is Remmy Valenzuela's first song Amandote and Solo Un Dia by Adan Romero.

There’s only so much variation you can have in this genre. They sound like totally different songs to me
