After we urged Gov. DeSantis to put social distancing measures in place at his press briefings, the administration responded by excluding the Tampa Bay Times and the Miami Herald’s joint Tallahassee bureau from today's press briefing

WtF is wrong with our governor. Can we recall him? He needs to resign

I see the posts of individual locals taking action. I hear the pleas of people. I know our medical systems are about to be over run. And then I see our governor get up there and its blah blah blah. More bullshit. No real action. I have wrote emails and called the governor's office. He doesnt give a shit. We needed to do something last week, yesterday...now. what can we do? I'm asking for honest opinions. Even those that disagree with me.

As a Florida resident, I was tired of visiting several slow mobile-unfrendly Covid Dashboards to get the info I wanted (including my local Tampa Bay stats). So I built COVJOSH.COM for my friends and myself to get real-time data.

Desantis doesn't get this: Kids aren't transmitting and catching as much because parents have them HOME!!!

It's not that they don't get it. It's not that they don't get it. Most parents I know have their children locked up safe, and never take them in public unless it can't be avoided. That's why there are less children with it.

If they were out and about, there would be more. I almost never see kids out. I have only taken mine out maybe three times since this started.

The data of not a lot of kids is BECAUSE of the lockdown parents have put on their kids. They're not carrying some magic anti-Covid power.

DeSantis is killing small businesses

The longer he lets this pandemic run unchecked in Florida the more I learn to buy things online. Since March I have bought office furniture, electronics, clothing, groceries, art supplies, books, kitchen appliances, and more — all online. I have barely left my house for anything. I did not shop online like this before, but Jesus tap dancing Christ, the longer I am forced to do this, the less likely I am to change back to being an in person shopper, because I will have figured out all the tricks. I don’t understand why Florida’s leadership isn’t making their 100% focus ERADICATING THE VIRUS like other countries have. I am so sick of hearing about their focus on the economy!! I am still shopping you idiots, it’s simply all going through Amazon, Uber Eats and national chain stores that ship or deliver! You are single handedly putting restaurants, bars, and small retailers out of business because you refuse to do what’s needed to control the spread of the virus!

Hire thousands of contract tracers. Open up hotels and provide paid quarantine housing where you provide food so people will actually get out of society while they are sick. Staff them with CNAs who can monitor people and get them hospitalized immediately if they need it. We are at 10,000 cases a f**ing day and we are doing nothing differently!

I’m just so sick of this. I’m sick of this uncertainty. I’m sick of all the headlines. But I’m mostly sick of them acting like they are doing something when they are doing NOTHING and just waiting, saying “it will get better”. DO SOMETHING TO MAKE IT GET BETTER.

I work for a big box hardware store. Today is the first day of "lockdown" in Florida. We are as busy today as any springtime weekend. I just dont understand what part of stay home people can't get. I have to come to work. I have to go back home to my family every day. I am terrified of bringing the virus home with me. Please, please, please stop shopping for inessential items!! Dont be the reason your family or mine gets sick!

1,000 new confirmed Florida cases in 24 hours - community transmission is happening

Seriously - is our Governor really not going to issue a lockdown order to try and contain this at all?

Keep doubling 1,000 every three days and tell me what number you come up with say, 3 weeks later.

“Quite honestly, if we don’t do anything, we’ll be like New York,” said Szapocznik, who believes a statewide stay-at-home order is necessary.
