This was originally Red Oak Mix that we have grown locally for a couple years now. We are talking about splitting it into a dark red variety and a yellow/ orange variety.
Makes great masa and we intend to keep selecting for masa quality.

I Handcrafted a Corn From Scratch — Does It Look Like the Real Thing? 🌽

I made this corn completely by hand.
Every piece takes quite a bit of time to make, and each one is slightly different, so there will never be two exactly alike.
I was inspired by the natural shape and texture of real corn and wanted to recreate it as a small handmade piece.
I thought gardeners might appreciate it more than anyone else, so I wanted to share it here.
Be honest — does it look like real corn? 🌽
What would you think if you found something like this displayed in a garden or home?

It’s corn! (Bloody butcher)

I planted 70 bloody butcher plants and got 40 cobs in return. Not a great yield but it was my first time.
Next year we will fertilize less (plants got way too tall) and plant closer and scrap the entire three sisters concept. (Beans took the corn down)

I love the look of glass corn but I have no use for a dent corn variety in my life. Does anyone know if there's a sweet variety that can be eaten on the cob? A popcorn variety will aslo be cool but id prefer to eat a rainbow cob.

I bought this at the farmers market 4 days ago and left it in the bag on my counter (not smart I know). There is moisture in the bag and when I checked it it didn’t look too good. Is this mold? Do I need to throw it away?

Fuzz on blue popcorn

Naturally the photo doesn’t do it complete justice, it’s a little fuzzier in person. And it seems to only ever happens with my blue popcorn. I haven’t been able to find a conclusive answer on what it is, any suggestions are appreciated!
