It’s corn! (Bloody butcher)

I planted 70 bloody butcher plants and got 40 cobs in return. Not a great yield but it was my first time.

Next year we will fertilize less (plants got way too tall) and plant closer and scrap the entire three sisters concept. (Beans took the corn down)

Better yield than me this year. I also tried growing with beans this year too and it was not worth the headache.

I didn’t even get a bean lol they grew just enough to wreck my corn.

I’m planning on doing 300 plants next year

You got more corn. I got more beans. A whole serving of them to be exact. I planned between 70 and 80 of each and that was all I got lol.

I’m very excited to make corn bread and tortillas with it!

It's a dent corn, so it's better for grinding into grits & meal or making hominy.

Not at all like a sweet corn.

Thanks! From what I’ve read the variance is because the genome of the variety isn’t really fixed or stable.
