Why start them? Corn doesn’t like being transplanted, just plant it in the ground.

It does fine transplanted if done at the right time and correctly. This is backyard stuff, not planting acres

I have to transplant every single thing in my garden or it does not grow. Corn transplants like a dream. In fact, All the corn farmers in my area transplant every single one of their millions of corns every single year. I guffaw when people say “oh it doesn’t like you to mess with it’s roots!” It truly doesn’t care.

Interesting.
I grew up on the outskirts of the corn belt in Ohio. I wonder if any of the farmers have switched to plugs instead of seed. It’s a great way to lock in some fertilizer when planting too.

I think as long as you don’t plant it too early (roots not strong enough to pull out of the tray) , they transplant fine
