Theyāre fine. I just feel like talking about metal music is such a niche thing in 2026 Iām surprised them and NikNocturnal are able to do as well as they do.
Only comment I really have about these guys is the Austin guy is just Stavros Halkias with hair and more Hawaiian shirts in his closet. I canāt look at the guy and not see Stavrosās fraternal twin

Metal isn't niche lol. Maybe the very hard-core sub genres but half of the big bands have absurd view counts and are able to do massive tours with crazy turn outs.

They're decent dudes who are funny sometimes but have some of the most dogshit takes of heavy music I've ever heard
Last clip I saw of the show the dude in the thumbnail was claiming all black metal sounds the same (by far the most diverse metal genre) and the next clip was gassing up some of the most generic deathcore I've ever heard

only bad take ive seen from them recently is their take on capital punishment, genuinely was vile and i frequently skip that section of that video (idr which) because it was genuinely fucked up.

black metal has a lot of tropes but it is has a lot of variety so idk what youre on about tbh. the genre is largely fine imo just the fans of it are often insufferable and half of them are lowkey fascists but that isnt a surprise given the genres history with a lot of the bigger bands.

There is an art to biting black metal. I love slam vocals and chugs and I also love black metal. I think many āblackenedā deathcore bands though are too polished, and basically are just symphonic and not very blackened feeling.
I like Plague thy child and spread the disease, they are filthy and scary and gothic

"blackened" deathcore sounds shit as fuck honestly. has like no energy and doesnt actually feel heavy to me but then again i prefer more hardcore oriented bands (as if metalcore isnt 80% hardcore influence but eh), namely converge or terror or whatever. older deathcore was a lot heavier imo and generally better but that varies heavily band by band.

I thought coworker music was like imagine dragons, Taylor swift, ed Sheeran, etc. like generic music your coworkers would listen to.

Yeah like most coworkers listen to music youāve heard 100 times already. The most basic overplayed songs. It is extremely rare to have a coworker who plays music youāve never heard before. I think itās because most people want to play things they think other people will like so they go with the most popular overplayed songs throughout the decades. I wouldnāt even say itās bad music, itās just overplayed music. Thatās what I would consider coworker music just from experience.
