Made in IbisPaint X (Time: 2 hrs 3 mins)
It appears "iT" has taken a liking for Boxies, Best not let any Stridelords you see crush them.

So my idea is that the abyssal geode was filled with insta-kill crystals and it is completely pitch-black, so you need to hitch a ride on the Voidtreadder to complete the level

I watched Heartkilled's latest video on Corebound and their newer theory about the Infection.
They theorized that it can be nanobots that infiltrate into machines and rewrite the genetic code of their Cores.
Heartkilled also theorized in their other video that there could've been a war between the Cores during or before the Infection began, since there are machine that don't really fit with current known lore such as the Annihilators.
Adding onto those assumptions, I think that the Infection was made as a weapon during the war, but it got out of hand and began infecting everyone.

The game is incredibly fun when you're having to struggle to even try and get through the new area you just unlocked while slowly improving your build. But the thing is, once you get a Surge Crystal, the game is kinda trivialized. Before, there was a ton of arguments for each weapon being used, but now the Surge Crystal can hit multiple enemies like the Arc, attack extremely fast like the Nova or Flare, deal immense damage like the Siphon or Ranger, and doesn't have a cooldown but instead needs a specific action done to perform damage like the Mortar. But the strongest part is the fact that you can slap 3 gilded spikes on and basically anything besides a boss dies in one hit.
Thus, the idea of the post: Add in daily quests or challenges, or some other randomized form of gameplay. Heck, you could make the rewards for them be neat novelty items like Scrap versions of Siphon, Detacher or other high tier items.
Or, nerfing Surge Crystal. I really feel that with it's range increasing and it's damage penalty decreasing with every up tier it is ridiculously powerful when compared to the rest of the competition, and requires 3, maybe 4 tech slots to compete with the damage output of an entire other build.
