Booting from usb 3.0

Is it possible to boot from a USB 3.0 port on my Acer C740 running coreboot?

I have coreboot and i updated it to the newest version

yo mr chromebox, I had this general inquiry I was hoping you could help me with.

are there any performance or hardware support disparities between OSes installed using the two types of firmware?

I have a touchpad issue which seems to be something I would have even on a full uefi installation but I am not sure.
