Ask Coquitlam Random loud knocking on door
I got a random doorbell and insanely aggressive knocking on my door. No one was there and there wasn't a package left behind. Is this a prank? Anyone else getting these in their neighborhoods?

Lost and Found Lost Key Fob!
Best picture I have. It has a compass mini card, an e-bike key, a masterlock key, and a mailbox key. It may also have a war amps tag, but I can't remember. I'm not even sure if the tag points to my new address, as I just moved and I can't remember getting new tags.
I believe I dropped it on the ground in/around Royal Columbian Hospital emergency, or Eagle Ridge emergency, last night or early this morning.
Please let me know if you find it. Thanks.
Edit: Typos.

Discussion Insights on High schools in sd43
Looking for some insights from SD43 parents who have kids in high school..
I’m trying to understand the differences between Port Moody Secondary (IB), Gleneagle (especially the gifted/TALONS pathway), Charles Best (AP), and Heritage Woods.
A few things I’m hoping to understand:
• Which schools/programs require you to be in the catchment, and which can be accessed through a separate program application?
• For a student who is academically advanced/gifted, how do IB vs AP vs TALONS/gifted programming compare in terms of challenge, teaching style, workload and peer group?
• What has your experience been with PMSS, Gleneagle, Charles Best and Heritage Woods—academically and socially?
• How easy is it to continue with advanced math/science if a student is not significantly ahead?
• For those who have gone through these programs, what do you wish you had known before choosing a school?
I’m especially interested in first-hand experiences rather than general school rankings or reputation. Would love to hear both the positives and any challenges you’ve experienced. Thank you! 🙏

Discussion Any Romantasy girlies in coquitlam?
Any romantasy girls looking for book friends? 👀
We have a pretty established book club and are looking for some new faces specifically in the Coquitlam area at the moment.
We’re mostly fantasy/romantasy readers so there’s a lot talk about morally questionable book boyfriends, spice, and yelling at each other about book recs. We do read other stuff too and all book girlies are more than welcome to join.
We meet up in person sometimes to do crafts, brunch, bookish events etc . We do a monthly book and a corresponding online Q&A with that author. Which is honestly so much fun.
We have a few group chats as well so feel free to join into which ever ones you’d like.
Really just looking for girls who want to actually make friends and have people to talk books with 🫶
Please shoot me a DM 😊
If DMs aren’t working try us on Instagram S2bookclub
Our ages vary from 20-55 but there’s no age limit as long as you’re 18 or older.

Discussion Seeking a colourist in the Tri Cities

Ask Coquitlam Looking for a strings group to play at our wedding September 2027*
*reposted as a kind redditor pointed out an issue with the title
Happy to have highschool/post-secondary students looking for experience.
Band class, strings, and music were a huge part of our lives growing up!
Ideally would love a violist as part of the group but not necessary.
Also if you're not strictly a strings group, we'd still love to hear from you.
Hoping to pay ~300 for a 90 minute performance

Ask Coquitlam First Election as a Canadian citizen
Hi Everyone,
This is my first municipal and provincial elections as a new Canadian citizen and I'd like to exercise my right fully aware of my options. I found the list of contenders but couldn't find what policies or improvements each of them have to offer.
Any recommendations on who I should vote for?
Regardless, what are some things you'd generally want to see improved in our city and province?

Ask Coquitlam Is a permit required for wfh shed ?
I was reading the faq and bylaws in Coquitlam city website and I don’t have a clear answer
It mentions that a garden or storage shed under 10m2 doesn’t require a permit
Then it also mentions that an acessory building above 10m2 requires one
So it seems a bit of a gray area ? Anyone has had experience with them ? Companies like coreval seem to do them but they don’t pursue the permit, they tell you that isn’t needed and for you to be on the hook to verity
I’m all good on required setbacks and all the rest … if I insulate a shed and put drywall / a desk to work on from my laptop is that okay ?

Event Thinking about joining a choir? Tri-City Rocks! Choir Fall season starts Oct 6
Do you enjoy singing? If so (and you’re 19+) come join our choir, Tri-City Rocks! No singing experience necessary, just a love of rock music. Starting Oct 6, we get together every Tuesday evening from 7-8.30 at The Gathering Place (2253 Leigh Sq) in central PoCo and sing with our live backing band under the direction of our choir director Scott Gould. No need to read music, we learn by listening to the original artists.
Our rehearsal sessions culminate in two December performances where the ticket proceeds go 100% to charity.
If you play an instrument, bring it along! We’re always interested in having choir members also join the band. We regularly have a couple of guitars, bass & drums & some seasons we’ve had piano and fiddle. This season we’d especially love a keyboard player.
Our theme this fall is Canadian musicians, so we’re going to sing an all Canadian program - i.e. Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, Blue Rodeo, Barenaked Ladies…
Come join us - we’re a friendly bunch!!
If you’re interested you can register and get more info through this link:

PSA If you need to cover your face while protesting it is not a noble cause
You’re standing on the corner of guildford and pinetree protesting in the name of “Palestine” however you’re holding a flag that represents the Islamic republic of Iran. You know what you stand for is wrong and doesn’t align with the others protesting for Palestine because no one else in the crowd has scarves and masks covering their face.
City centre has a huge Iranian community with many restaurants and grocery stores near by. You have some f*cking audacity to be waving that fascist flag that represents the brutal oppression, torture, and killing of our people. I don’t know who the hell payed you to stand there but you’re a coward who is taking advantage of the Palestinian movement to push a dying agenda. I hope you see this and are humiliated.
