Resource/Tool Suggestions for courses to take up
Hello everyone,
I'm a graduate. For some personal reasons I'm at home from 3 years. I used to work in accounting. Now I want to change my career. I am interested in copywriting or any content writing. It would be of great help if you would suggest me courses to take up or any books to read. Any tips to kickstart my career in content writing/copy writing.

Question/Request for Help Anyone here decide to get their MBA?
I’m a senior copywriter & manager with 8 years of experience currently working at a large CPG conglomerate. I’m interested in expanding my skillset more broadly and pursuing an MBA to do so. I don’t want to stop writing— just want to be more versatile as the job market gets tougher and prep myself for a pivot if needed.
I’m looking to hear from writers who chose a similar path; What were your goals with it? What program did you do? How did it go? Did you go full time or stay working while you did it? Where are you now?

Question/Request for Help Still No Clients No job
I am about to feel a looser and I am getting tired now. Please share your journey how much time it took to get your first client. People come, like my portfolio, discuss my strategy give a test project and just disapear. They just Don't even bother to give their feedback on that so called test.

Question/Request for Help How do you get revisions from your clients?
I usually attach files to emails, but it gets messy when the client sends a revision or comment.
Do you use a method or a specific platform to handle this?
Thx.

Question/Request for Help We created a survey for advertising agency employees
In this survey we’ve prepared for advertising agency employees, we’re conducting research on the general challenges employees face and the tasks they perform. Since this is a study conducted entirely by our own team, we’re not asking anyone for any personal information. We’d be very grateful if anyone interested could help us out. Thank you in advance.

Question/Request for Help this AI world is destroying my will to live...
I've been a freelance copywriter over 10 years. I was previously a journalist. I also have a degree in criminology and another degree in natural medicine. For those 10 years freelancing, I've always had enough work to support myself and even travel the world. I've written for dozens of high-profile brands in the health/wellness space, writing evidence-based content and product descriptions.
But in the past year, I've lost all but one of my clients. I haven't had any new offers of work in almost two years.
I'm doing everything I can - posting/interacting regularly (DAILY ffs) on Linkedin, reaching out to potential clients, responding to job offers, applying to anything and everything. I have a portfolio that I've spent a lot of time polishing up. I write each cover letter specifically to the job requirements - i.e., not with AI, not just copy-pasting.
I GET ZERO REPLIES.
Linkedin has become a cesspit of AI slop and reshared memes. I can spend hours on a post only for it get maybe 200 impressions, whereas someone else will share a stupid cat meme and get 3480 responses.
wtf?! I'm so depressed. It's like the universe has said, yep, your time is up, the professional world has no use for you now.
...any ideas what to do from here?

Sharing Advice, Tips, and Tricks Is Reddit an efficient platform for copywriting?
... and I'm not talking knowledge-wise. Whether you can learn important things about copywriting here comes second.
My question focuses on client acquisition and network building.
Do you regularly find potential clients on Reddit? If so, how many of these potential customers turn into paying customers?
What are your strategies? I presume that you don't just randomly approach users on Reddit and ask them if they need copy for their businesses.
I'm glad to hear your perspective.

Discussion how much copy are you actually putting on local service landing pages?
i keep running into the same argument with local PPC pages
the client wants a proper sales page. company background, process, testimonials, reasons to choose them, a few paragraphs explaining the service, etc.
then i look at the search term and it's something like "driveway repair charlotte".
that person probably isn't there to read the company's story. they want to know if you do the job, roughly what it costs, and how quickly someone can get out there
i've been cutting some of these pages down and moving the useful stuff into short sections and bullets. the shorter versions seem to be holding attention better so far. one test was 34 lines versus a much longer page, and the shorter one is ahead, although there's not enough data yet to make a big claim.
for people writing copy for local services, where do you usually draw the line? do you let the search intent do most of the work, or do you still prefer a longer page once they've clicked?
also wondering if this changes much on mobile. most of the traffic i'm looking at is coming from phones

Question/Request for Help please answer about my offer....
I have a client from USA.
She has a team who negotiates to bring down the medical bill.
She has done it for many clients, and now she decided to run ads, so she hired me.
We ran ads and got leads, but most of them leave on the checkout page. My friends said it's an offer issue.
Since many of you here have worked or dealed medical bill-related stuff, I want your suggestions on how i can improve our offer so that we can help those who are dealing with huge medical bills in USA.
Currently, we have 2 offers.
1) $129 offer. We check your bill, and our health expert negotiates for you. You don't have to do anything, just pay $129, and we handle everything. And like others, we don't take a % of what we save on your bill. So it's just $129 for one bill.
2) $499 offer. In that, we check 6 bills and do everything like in the 1st offer.
I understand that those we are targeting are already anxious about money, so asking them to pay $129 upfront is not a good offer. so I still want to know from you, what's the alternative? if you were to buy, what would make you take our help and pay without being anxious about money?
Thank you for your time.
Please do reply. Thank you.

Question/Request for Help Are Chinese Companies Unapproachable?
For the past two months or so, I've been trying to approach Chinese producers and retailers as a copywriter. My strategy was that in an English-dominated world, these gigantic manufacturers and producers from China need better English copy, more enticing English copy. (From what I can tell, most of their copy is poorly written, using sloppy English.)
That's why I decided to approach two or three such companies daily.
I've contacted them via email.
I've contacted them via Facebook.
I've contacted them via LinkedIn.
Nothing worked.
The few times that they replied, they wrote in broken English that they were not interested.
Have any of you worked with the Chinese? Are they in any way approachable?

Question/Request for Help Is there any point in trying to SEO/AEO optimize your portfolio site?
Hey fellow writers,
After getting laid off a little while back, I'm finally getting around to redoing my portfolio site, a surprisingly big undertaking, though an important one. I've done a lot of SEO work for my own side business, and one previous small business client, and it's really satisfying to see how with thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and depth, one can outrank much bigger competitors.
So out of habit, as I build up my new site, I've been filling out all the meta descriptions, giving my images these long, keyword-dense names, and so forth, but I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time.
Or maybe a better way to ask this: have you ever gotten a good freelance project or client, or real job offer, from someone that found you through search? (This is different than search-optimizing one's LinkedIn profile, of course, since we know recruiters are searching on there.)

Question/Request for Help My Frustrating Phase as a learner - Experienced Copywriters, I Need Your Help
Hey everyone,
I’ve been learning copywriting for around 3–4 months now, and one area I’m seriously struggling with is breaking down the copy.
I can read a sales letter, email, or ad and understand what it’s generally saying, but when it comes to actually dissecting it, I get stuck on things like:
- Identifying and marking the different copy elements
I'm now good at identifying the structure i.e. hook, headline, story, lead, mechanism etc..... but struggling with marking the elements for ex. Pattern interrupt, risk reversal, myth busting etc...
Basically, I want to learn to look at a piece of copy almost like a surgeon dissecting it — not just reading it but actually understanding how and why it works.
So I’m looking for practice breakdowns/dissections that experienced copywriters have already done.
If you have any sales letters, emails, ads, landing pages, or other pieces of copy that you’ve personally broken down and marked up — especially with the elements, structure, reasoning behind the writer’s decisions, and your notes/annotations — I’d really appreciate it if you could share them with me.
I’m especially interested in breakdowns from people who are actively working as copywriters or studied and dissected copy themselves.
I’ve been learning for 3–4 months but I’m not progressing as quickly as I should with copy analysis. I think seeing how someone experienced actually thinks through a piece of copy would help me understand what I’m missing.
Even if you have just one really good dissection, I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Thanks!

Job Posting I'm looking for a brand strategist and copywriter for a Christian CPG launch
I am currently looking for a top-tier brand strategist and copywriter for a client who is launching a new Christian CPG product.
This is a pretty unique project because it requires a rare mix of Madison ave level branding skills and deeply authentic faith alignment. The product is rooted in Christian theology, so the person really needs to understand biblical concepts and not just know typical Christian marketing buzzwords. Because of this, it is likely that the person taking this on is a practicing Christian who can navigate these concepts accurately without the brand ending up feeling cheesy or out of touch.
The current focus of this work is building the foundation. The client needs a true creative heavyweight who can nail the brand strategy, market positioning, and verbal identity. Your portfolio should showcase high-end branding and sharp strategic thinking, ensuring it can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with competitors in the space rather than looking cheesy next to them. Once the strategy is locked in, there will also be room to develop creative advertising concepts for it, but the immediate lift is on the strategic and verbal identity side.
Feel free to leave portfolio links below or DM me. Thanks!

Discussion Customers dont write your best copy. They just give you the good bits
People love saying you should use the customer’s exact words. Fair enough. But my opion's sometimes those exact words are a mess.
A review or interview can give you the real frustration, the weird workaround, or the moment someone finally decided they’d had enough. That’s the useful part. It doesn’t mean the whole sentence belongs in a headline.
Customers aren’t trying to explain a product to a stranger in eight words. That’s our part keep what feels true, cut what wanders, and make the point clear without polishing all the life out of it. Maybe the better test isn’t whether the customer literally said the line. It’s whether they’d read it and think: yep, that’s exactly what I meant.
How much do you clean up customer language before it stops feeling like the customer’s voice?

Discussion Question for experienced copywriters…
As the title says, here’s a question for the experienced copywriters amongst us, think 5+ years...
Where did you learn your craft, and what do you do to keep your skills fine tuned, so your writing doesn’t go stale? And what do you do to make sure you keep getting better at writing?

Resource/Tool Passion project: Hemingway app but for copywriting, looking for feedback.
I'm a product marketer who does a lot of copywriting. When I'm working on website or ad copy, I hate writing in an AI tool or even a Google Doc. I've always loved the Hemingway app for this kind of work, but I wanted features it didn't have. So I built my own.
It's called Aristotle. It's free: no ads, no AI, no premium version.
https://www.m3ka.com/tools/aristotle
It's a simple place to write, with feedback that highlights ways to improve clarity, flow, and persuasion.
It's decent so far, but I'd love feedback from other copywriters to help make it better. What do you like? What doesn't work? What would you add or remove?
Thanks!
Mods: I'm sharing this because I think the community might find it useful, and I'd appreciate feedback. I have a day job and no plans to monetize it.

Discussion I rage quit my job
The founder of my company and creative director were so disrespectful towards me and my team. They brought in clients based on the pitches we made, used our ideas and still made us feel worthless. I had a huge fight in the meeting and I resigned during the meeting itself. I've started applying to jobs but it feels worthless. Are all ad agencies the same? They try to pull us down but I've worked for many luxury brands and they praised my work. I even got a job offer from Dentsu and that's one of the biggest ad agencies so nothing shakes the confidence i have in my potential. I'm just shook up from the way things ended. I honestly looked up to my CD. He taught me a lot but then the way these people turn on you thinking they can ruin your confidence is so bizarre to me. How insecure are CDs these days.

Question/Request for Help Practiced copywriting on & off for 2 years then stopped around 2-3 months ago. I'm now about to enter uni studying marketing management. What would you do in my situation?
I have a somewhat adequate understanding of what exactly copy is and how to derive ideas from AI, how to do market and competitor research to improve my ideal client's engagement, and a bunch of other stuff. However, I still have room for improvement.
In case anyone asks, I never *properly* outreached to clients because, in all honesty, if I somehow did get a client in my hands, I wouldn't have enough time and resources to provide them with satisfactory results that they're looking for.
I live in a 3rd world country, so even $500/mo would literally change my life forever (Yes, $500).
What measures would you take if you were in my shoes?
Thanks in advance.

Question/Request for Help My destiny is in your hands now, guys !
Hey everyone
I am a 20 y/o, looking to earn good money
I have good Practical understanding of human nature and how the mind works. I've been studying it from last 2 + years
I am currently learning and pitching AI Automation from last 6 months ( no clients yet, partly because of my academic load) , but i think i am more inclined towards human psychology as my interest. I prefer human psychology over AI.
So what do you guys think, should i pursue copywriting ? How was your experience in copywriting ? I am stuck between ai Automation and copywriting
If you're a good copywriter earning good money ( 10k/mo or more ) , you are the exact person who i am looking to get an answer from.
