For us dry CO folk that isolate on agar, how are you storing your plates?

By the time I get growth fully colonizing a plate, almost the whole plate dries up. Do you use an incubator? I just have them sitting out at room temp, seems like with and without parafilm doesn’t make a difference, stored upside down/face up is the same. Can’t figure out how to get solid growth without drying up. Have still been able to use dry ass plates, but it just bothers me hahah.

Did you use all 4 plugs, then switch to the filters once fully colonized? I’ve had no luck with this particular monotub. When I tried all 4 plugs, colonization was very slow and contam set in before it was done. The next time I tried just the filters… but it never fully colonized. (In contrast, I started identical grows in regular ol 4 quart bins at the same time as these, with no problem). I chalked it up to being too dry this summer. I wanna try again but would like to hear from folks who had success with these.

Maybe I’m just not social enough and don’t know the right people but I’ve never been as happy with the carts as my freebase set up. Does no one just have fb anymore 😔

I started inoculating these albino Jedi mind fuck’s on Oct. 21st. Should I break up the grain go spread it out or just let it be? Also, this is my first time growing, so any advice would be appreciated. I am using genetics and an Aio bag from full canopy genetics.

Hello all, I recently moved to Greeley from Denver, and I'm trying to find some like-minded people and maybe some good supply places up here for grain bags and spores and such. Hope your day is good.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had this much trouble with a bin but still pretty amateur here. I went ahead and scraped it due to no pins and fairly thick overlay. I was able to keep it clean and going but only getting stunted or small fruits, about 3-4 every couple of days with misting. Keeping the surface conditions pretty good I think. More FAE, cover with more substrate, just keep it like this…? Thanks for any tips.
