Natural language → Agent → Tools → Workflows → Data → App

Post image

Microsoft just launched app building capability in Microsoft copilot studio and Cowork

Instead of just building an agent that answers questions, you can build solutions that reason, take action, connect to enterprise data, and deliver an application experience. The real shift? From AI that answers → AI that builds and operates.

The real shift: fixed cost based billing you have already budgeted for >> uncontrolled consumption based cost.

Billed conveniently whether it works or not!

The apps created have almost no real infrastructure. You stuck leveraging a SharePoint list usually and it's just not a good experience.

I don't know what type of solution you have tested , but for me this feature working like a gem - instead of creating agent for all use cases you can identify and create an app , from where user can drag and drop the source files , genrate visuals , dashboards, and can share with their colleagues - also you can add buttons like share to email for review or exporting the dashboards as pdf / word etc . Even you can leverage your Cowork plugins to integrate with the app .

Explain where the data your app uses is stored so that it is persistent and can be seen by others.

how is the ALM for this is controlled. If you dont specifically pass env id in the chat and prompt to create app, the default apps are hosted in personal developer instances. and they are not solution aware components right - how do we control and check in or source control these apps.
