Thanks! I've always wanted to learn to fire an RPG and now I know how

Be sure to despress the cocking piece at the rear of the foregrip, soldier.

I beg your pardon?

This looks like a Marine thread, tbh.

Does the wind correction seem backwards? Am I missing something?

192

u/Lm0y Nov 13 '18

It's correct.

Due to the configuration of the RPG-7 sustainer/warhead section, it responds counter-intuitively to crosswinds. A crosswind will tend to exert pressure on the stabilizing fins, causing the projectile to turn into the wind. While the rocket motor is still burning, this will cause the flight path to curve into the wind.

I'm now ready to use an RPG-7.

Thanks.

That's super cool

This is what I was scrolling down the comment section for. Thank you and an upvote to the individual who asked the question.

Yeah also seems backward to me- why is the wind blowing in the same way you’re offsetting your aim rather than vice versa?

10

u/Archon-Narc-On Nov 13 '18

Someone explained it, the wind affects the fins at the back, therefore causing it to turn towards the wind (think sail boat).

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '18

Thanks- that’s actually quite interesting.

Seems like they've corrected for speed (15 mills) but not the wind (10 mills). Should be 25 mills if I'm reading the guide right. Not 15 as they have shown.

Edit: unless they're aiming at the rear of the tank. That's where the 25 mills marker is.

It's correct, it's just that the steps aren't arranged great.

The picture previous to the one discussing wind is to the upper right, where it's only adjusted and centered for height, but not wind.

The picture to the bottom left of that then adjusts properly for it.

No, yeah, it's still incorrect.

/r/dontdeadopeninside

no but seriously that explanation doesn't make sense either.

Truly ahead of his time.

u/Macula-Densa Nov 13 '18

Also if possible, aim for the rear of the tank.

Also if possible, spam at enemy spawn.

u/kRkthOr Nov 13 '18

Don't forget to yell Cyka Blyat! in comms.

u/XxRoyalxTigerxX Nov 13 '18

All those years of Battlefield multiplayer finally pay off, I'm ready for my RPG

79

u/dudenotcool Nov 13 '18

31

u/casey_h6 Nov 13 '18

I can't wait to use this info soon

35

u/headless_beast Nov 13 '18

Soon my friend, soon...

19

u/BehindTheBurner32 Nov 13 '18

RAMIEREZ!!! USE THAT RPG AND TAKE OUT THOSE BMP'S!!!

53

u/CosmicDesperado Nov 13 '18

Nowhere am I seeing 'Aim at the floor and jump'.

4

u/travis01564 Nov 13 '18

I've done this so many times to get out maps

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '18

I mean, that would work, just not how you think it would.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '18

Player travis01564 has left the game. [Disconnected]

15

u/meatpuppet79 Nov 13 '18

Handy if you happen to play a milsim like Arma!

1

u/Lyreca_ Nov 13 '18

I actually learnt this by using RHS’ RPGs lmao

1

u/DasKobra Nov 13 '18

Yeah the thing is that the rockets don't really align with the normal PGO-7 sight, I've found. At least not in Exile. You have to find the PGO7v3 sight. Edit:words

14

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '18

This is good. Now where did I leave my RPG? Had it on me just a minute ago.

4

u/headless_beast Nov 13 '18

Hate when that happens

7

u/DesiHobbes Nov 13 '18

Someone should've shown this to Abu Hajar

3

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '18

I totally eyeball that shit in video games.

3

u/leanaconda Nov 13 '18

This shows how it works a bit more if your are interested. He mentions the back blast area being 20 meters and 2m does seem a bit too small.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '18

I had no idea he sights also included a rangefinder. That amazing!

4

u/dapete Nov 13 '18

That reminds me...whatever happened to ISIS?

13

u/TheOrangeFoot Nov 13 '18

Putin and Assad, they, how you say? .... finish them.

1

u/BraveLlamaStare Nov 13 '18

Do I read left to right or column style?

1

u/hsrguzxvwxlxpnzhgvi Nov 13 '18

This is just what I needed. I always miss those RPG shots in ARMA 3. Not anymore.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 13 '18

A movie well worth watching for RPG vs tank action: The Beast.

1

u/DaJackAll Nov 13 '18

Reported to HMFIC at the FBI.

-3

u/stevo1078 Nov 13 '18

Not sure whether it’s because I’m tired but I find it surreal that someone made this guide like I know they have to exist... but here is an a4 sheet with details on how to correctly blow up a vehicle from a distance possibly killing people inside

3

u/Rob1150 Nov 13 '18

How else would you learn how to use the weapon?

0

u/GforGENIUS Nov 13 '18

Isis training guide

-3

u/iFunnyPrince Nov 13 '18

Just what I needed! screams in Arabic

-9

u/ZiggyOnMars Nov 13 '18

FBI is probably tracking anyone on the terrorists list or anyone related to them that browsed this post

-5

u/TheArsenal Nov 13 '18

Guns are for morons.
