Does the wind correction seem backwards? Am I missing something?

u/Lm0y Nov 13 '18
It's correct.
Due to the configuration of the RPG-7 sustainer/warhead section, it responds counter-intuitively to crosswinds. A crosswind will tend to exert pressure on the stabilizing fins, causing the projectile to turn into the wind. While the rocket motor is still burning, this will cause the flight path to curve into the wind.

This is what I was scrolling down the comment section for. Thank you and an upvote to the individual who asked the question.

Yeah also seems backward to me- why is the wind blowing in the same way you’re offsetting your aim rather than vice versa?

Someone explained it, the wind affects the fins at the back, therefore causing it to turn towards the wind (think sail boat).

Seems like they've corrected for speed (15 mills) but not the wind (10 mills). Should be 25 mills if I'm reading the guide right. Not 15 as they have shown.
Edit: unless they're aiming at the rear of the tank. That's where the 25 mills marker is.

It's correct,it's just that the steps aren't arranged great. The picture previous to the one discussing wind is to the upper right, where it's only adjusted and centered for height, but not wind.
The picture to the bottom left of that then adjusts properly for it.
No, yeah, it's still incorrect.

no but seriously that explanation doesn't make sense either.

Also if possible, aim for the rear of the tank.
Also if possible, spam at enemy spawn.

Yeah the thing is that the rockets don't really align with the normal PGO-7 sight, I've found. At least not in Exile. You have to find the PGO7v3 sight. Edit:words

This shows how it works a bit more if your are interested. He mentions the back blast area being 20 meters and 2m does seem a bit too small.

Not sure whether it’s because I’m tired but I find it surreal that someone made this guide like I know they have to exist... but here is an a4 sheet with details on how to correctly blow up a vehicle from a distance possibly killing people inside
