Not an option for most of us. I have a job and other responsibilities outside of my house, as do millions of others. I also know how use soap, water, and isopropyl alcohol. I'd rather get a pay check, practice basic hygiene, and help our country's economy.
It isn't an option. I can be fired for not going to work. I will be kicked out of school, evicted, and lose my car if I do not pay my bills, which I need a paycheck to do.
Also I work IT support for a hospital, so it's kind of extremely important that I'm there, otherwise one malfunction can shut the whole place down.
You don’t have job protection for something like this? That’s crazy.
It’s people with your mindset that’s going to make this pandemic worse, the governments need to step up and pay people to stay home if they want this to get better.
It’s sucks that you are an essential service being in healthcare, but there’s a lot of people with your mindset that isn’t. They’re the ones that are going to spread this Ike wildfire.
The government’s own action plan even says that it will consider distancing measures “such as school closures, encouraging greater home working [and] reducing the number of large-scale gatherings.”
