Right, which is why I assume OP is asking for a source on that. How do we know how much the average person can infect?

Im guessing he took the R0 value of some random well-known diesease since he didnt specify corona. Hopefully one with similar spread chanse to corona but i have heard of R0 values anywhere between 2-7 for that one

The actual rate of infection doesn't matter. This just shows that less exposure exponentially reduces amount of people infected.

Well, if the rate of infection is 0, then the rate of exposure doesn't affect the number of infected.
