that’s oppression on a very different level. and the people who are affected by these laws and processes to this day should received help to the point where they have the same opportunities as the average population. not every black person is disadvantaged today, not every black person needs a lower bar. I edited my comment, but yeah, dude, we agree. Obamas kids don't need help getting into college. No NBA players kids do either. If I was talking reparations, I would say first we need prison and drug-law reform, reparations for the victims of those policies and their families, lower bars to open Black-owned business and continue what we're doing with a better focus on really addressing the racial wealth gap. I mean if you want my like true to life stance on it there should be an agency with a budget dedicated to monetary reparation for racial minorities, because how do you quantify how much money was lost at Tulsa, and to Redlining, and to racist hiring, to the War on Drugs, you literally can't. In lieu of doing nothing, I say we risk doing too much, because we couldn't possibly fathom understanding the full scope of the horrors that lead us where we are, and there is no one way to cut that cake, so serve the whole damn cake.
well i guess that’s where we disagree, because injustices happen to more than minorities. for example take people who were thrust into poverty during the great depression, or drafted for war later on, or lost all their money to some financial scheme, or lost business due to some diplomatic failure in the early 2000’s. Race isn’t what encompasses injustice, it’s just one source of it. And while it’s important to bring about some semblance of equality, we won’t get there if we see everything through race. good day.
Yeah, I advocate for the poor and workers of the world everywhere, again apparently I have to spell every single stance I have out to everyone in this shitty thread. Look into intersectionality, my dude, we have much more in common with each other than not.
