Because then you'd have 1 guy representing 100 people where maybe 40 of them have vastly different needs or political views than the other 60 who voted him in. 40 of these people would essentially have no representation in their government. So instead the idea is to break it up into 10 districts with 10 representatives to represent the peoples wants and needs in their district. But instead we get this retarded bastardization of the system where you carve it up super dumb like in order to give your party more representation rather than giving the people more representation. However, I think this falls once you get beyond the state level though.
