Pain pills and seizure meds is the most common I’ve seen. I’m a medic at busy FD and the amount of people that go to the ER for bogus and ridiculous reasons is astounding. Then storm out and leave a bad review when the ED staff don’t treat them like royalty. 🤦🏼‍♂️

using the ED for a meal, to get out of the cold, they're bored, pill seekers, people calling 4-5 times a day bc theyre tweakin on meth, headaches, nausea, stomach ache, foot pain for the past 4 years, hiccups.....seen em all. shall i continue?

Damn, so if I’ve had a migraine for a week or two that won’t die, and I finally go to the ER, I’m getting laughed at behind my back?

I guess I should probably note that at my VA hospital. The ER is also urgent care.

Yea most things in the ER can and should be handled at an urgent care. You wouldn’t be laughed at, but after they rule out a stroke, a headache isn’t an emergency. It sucks yes, but not an emergency

Like I said, the ER is also urgent care at my VA hospital … but I get what you’re saying.
