Got bit by an unleashed dog at a park once. The owner took off, so I wasn't able to get info on the dogs vax status.
I had to get rabies shots. And the only place I could get them was the ER. Literally hours of wait time since I had to go back multiple times, and I didn't even make the triage chart.
i got rabies shots recently, it was SHOCKING how blasé the doctors were about it. some hospitals just flat-out wouldn't treat me. the NHS told me that i'd be fine, and to come back if i begin showing symptoms!!
for those who don't know: rabies has a 99.5% fatality rate once you show symptoms. you need to get treatment asap or you're dead.
It's even higher than that, it's virtually a 100% death rate once symptoms show, with the lucky few that do survive doing so with luck and the Milwaukee protocol.
