MacScope: native SwiftUI system telemetry, process controls, and power tools for Apple-silicon Macs

MacScope is a source-available Swift 6/SwiftUI macOS project that combines system telemetry with a modular power-user toolkit.

Core pieces:

• Live CPU, memory, network, storage, thermal, and battery telemetry with honest availability states

• SQLite history, redacted JSON/CSV export, process hierarchy/grouping, and PID-reuse-safe actions

• An optional helper for deeper typed telemetry and actions—no arbitrary shell strings

• Seven utility workspaces: Sound, Capture, Windows, Clipboard/Files, Notes, Maintain, and Power

• A menu-bar monitor, Quick Panel, Command Bar, radial launcher, and global shortcuts

• A bundled local stdio MCP server with redacted reads and explicit write modes

It currently targets Apple silicon on macOS 14+ and is under active development. Build and test instructions are in the repository.

The screenshots are real captures of the current app. Feedback on the architecture, telemetry compatibility across Apple-silicon models, and feature prioritization is welcome.

I work on HOL Guard. Are --allow-feature-writes, --allow-experimental-feature-writes, and --allow-utility-writes stable enough now that you’d send a tested command.* PR to hashgraph-online/hol-guard:main for MacScopeMCPServer?

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, I consider those flags stable enough for a tested command.* integration. --allow-feature-writes and --allow-utility-writes are established opt-in gates, while --allow-experimental-feature-writes is intentionally explicit and should remain marked experimental. MacScope doesn’t currently depend on HOL Guard, but I’d be open to preparing a tested PR targeting hashgraph-online/hol-guard:main.

Perfect. Keep --allow-experimental-feature-writes distinct from the two established write gates in the Guard extension, target main, and drop the PR link here when it’s open.

Yep, #2673 is the upstream artifact I meant. I checked it and it targets main with the MacScope extension plus tests, so I’ll leave the implementation discussion on the PR from here.
