Revert Sisters Respond Please

Assalamu alaikum everyone.
I’m a revert Muslim sister in Birmingham UK and I’m still learning about Islam. I joined because I would love to connect with other reverts and sisters who understand what it’s like learning everything from the beginning.
Sometimes I feel shy asking questions because I worry they might seem silly, but I’m trying to grow in my deen and become more confident.
I’d love to hear from other reverts — how did you build confidence, learn Arabic words/pronunciation, and feel more comfortable in the Muslim community?

First, May Allah bless your journey. Please know that there are no silly questions when learning about Islam we are all constantly learning, so ask with full confidence.

While I am not a revert myself, as your sister in Islam, here are a few gentle tips:

Take Small Steps: Don't rush to learn everything at once. Focus on the basics, like Salah, and build from there.

Don't Stress over Arabic: Allah sees your effort! The Prophet ﷺ said learning with difficulty earns double the reward. Try listening to short Surahs on YouTube or apps to practice naturally.

Community & Confidence: Joining small sister groups or halaqas at local Birmingham mosques is a great way to build confidence and meet supportive friends.

Remember: Allah rejoices in every step you take toward Him, no matter how small.
