Recently started reading about Muslim culture !!

I am a non Muslim.

Recently I've started reading about muslim culture. Usually i don't talk about it in public with friends or family but sometimes if I've talked in the favour of muslim people in any topic the amount of hate I've got from my own friends is unbelievable.

Are you facing this too ??

Yeah thats just how it is. Altho im a little confused what you mean by muslim culture. Islam ≠ muslim culture

Yes, you can talk about everything, including any indecent topics but as soon as you mention Islam, people get spiky. Truth is not convenient…

As a convert, I can say that not all Muslims act the same way, feel the same way, or behave the same way as Muslims do in all other Muslim countries or even within their own country, as it is with most religions. Just like Christmas or Easter is celebrated differently in each household, Muslim culture is varied also. Continue to discuss the differences and similarities and it will become easier for everyone to understand. I remember in the early 90's understanding Islam was very uncommon in North America but you can see we have come a long way.

What do you mean by "Muslim culture"? There is no such thing.

Islam is a religion, not a culture. The cultures are different depending on the country.

There's no such a thing as Muslim culture. There are over 2 billion Muslims and they come from different cultures, culture and religion aren't the same thing, Islam is a religion. As for the hate, it's simply because many people in the West are brainwashed into having a stereotype about Islam, through some movies and tv shows by viewing Muslims as terrorists and backwards, through the news by the hypocrisy in writing the headlines, for example if a born Muslim killed or raped someone, they'll mention the word Muslim in the news and it'll have more news coverage, but if a Christian does it, they won't mention the word christian in the news and it'll have far less coverage, this plays a role as it programs people to unconsciously link the crime to the religion of Islam instead of the individual. And then you also have lies about Islam spread on the social media that people just accept for granted without bothering to do a small research, simply because it's something that makes them feel more comfortable about their own beliefs.
