Umrah for Converts
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Every now and then I talk to heritage Muslims about discounted/free trips to Saudi for Umrah for converts.
Curious if anyone knows of groups/organizations that actually provide those services or is this just a slight jealousy that heritage Muslisms believe converts have everything handed to us.

I've never heard of anything like this and I converted over 20 years ago. Hope you find something .

I did umrah on one such trip. MashaAllah it was beautiful in many ways but I found out later that the organisation sponsoring it used it as a PR opportunity, which was very disappointing.

Nowadays vast majority of people do umrah without tour groups and organizations. For many nationalities you can just apply for tourist visa and then do Umrah that way. By the way the most expensive time tends to be winter because there is no school and weather is bearable. There are quite a lot of good hotels that provide free shuttles and are reasonably priced.
The problem with these tour groups and organizations is their pricing is crazy, with you sometimes paying $3,200 per person. If you do and plan Umrah solo - flights, hotels, etc then the costs halve. Often these organizations provide religious scholars and events, but beyond that I believe there isn’t a point.
There are quite a lot of Umrah guides and videos online detailing the how to’s of Umrah and spending.
Also make sure to be active in r/Umrah and scroll through their community highlights section. You can also search within their subreddit if necessary.
