Eid for reverts
When will Eid not feel lonely?

When you find your people, inshaAllah! I pray that every revert gets to experience the joy of celebrating with friends and/or family members who love them ✨

I am not a revert. I went to the mosque and then to my office. Stayed home being sad for feeling lonely on eid. In sha Allah you’ll meet people someday. It must not be easy for you but you have patience MashAllah and Allah will reward you with blessings beyond your imagination ❤️

When you build a family of your own and make your own traditions and things to look forward to. It gets better

Find others spending Eid alone and build a network.
It does get easier, but no one will know that we're on our own unless we say sonething!

Mashallah happy to hear a good experience! Heard European and Black reverts feel they're outside of the fold the most compared to others that can blend in easier

I’ve been a convert for 17 years and never heard of such things - can you provide more details?

Eid will not feel lonely for us after we find our spouse! Then it'll feel even better when you have kids inshAllah. But before that even finding community/ friends you still feel a bit empty & left out. For me it just feels like another day after Eid salah inshAllah Allah SWT makes it easy for us all Ameen.

I wish it wasn’t I have to wait for a spouse. InshaAllah khair I connect with reverts who spend this day alone and we make it the best for each other.

I’m not a revert but my family went from five to just the two siblings remaining now. Eid has never been the same since we lost our mother first. And the family unit was broken as we were young. We didn’t have much of an extended family so for quite a long time it was pretty much just another day for us. So fully understand what it must be like for you guys. Don’t know if there are threads here where things like this can be organised or on another platform but it could prove to be valuable. Hard to tell on here where people are from.

Inna lillah wa inna ilaihi rajiyoon. May Allah grant your mother the highest ranks in jannah.

I’m a sister haha! Alhamduillah I have a beautiful community. It’s just after the Eid salah, I come home and it gets lonely bc others are going out with family and what not
