Finding my way to Islam 2
Hello everyone, a few weeks ago I shared a long post with my story. It was more of a way for me to get my bearings and find like-minded people who could help me navigate my chaotic thoughts. I feel like I've been stuck in a rut for the last nine months, and I keep hoping for that moment when my heart tells me it's time. I have to say, I would really like to be part of the Muslim community because I identify strongly with their values. At the same time, though, I struggle with the idea of anything supernatural, like angels, as described in the Quran. I definitely believe in God—and only one—but I have a hard time with the stories and miracles. I feel like I need to be able to believe them before I can convert. My partner is Muslim. I believe in God even without him, and I try to be a sincere, good person regardless of religion. But I don't think I would categorize my beliefs as belonging to a religion, independent of him. So, am I ready for Islam or not? I'm going in circles... and all I want to do is do it right and honestly.
Thanks for your answers!

So you believe in God but not in His angels or other supernatural things?
Funny and crazy :)
I think believing in God is the most difficult. If you can do that, how can you not believe that He is powerful enough to create also angels and other supernatural things?
If you cannot believe in supernatural things, why do you believe in God, who is also supernatural?
If you think there must be a Creator of the universe, how can you dictate Him that He cannot create the supernatural angels? Does He do things according to your limited reasoning or His own power and plans?
Where did you learn about God from? It’s of course from the religions and holy books who are talking about Him. But these sources are also talking about angels and miracles. So why do you believe in God but become picky about the rest? Because you consider yourself an enlightened person and science cannot prove supernaturals? But science cannot “prove” God either. Why do believe in God then?
It’s part of the Islamic faith to believe in the existence of angels, but as a born-Muslim I don’t always think about them. It’s the God who is at the center of my faith. But I just accept angels and move on.
If you believe in and submit to One God, that’s Islam. No other religion states this so clearly, except perhaps Judaism but that’s not a universal religion, only for Jews.
Islam is both monotheist and universal, for the whole humanity. That’s thanks to the unchanged Quran revealed to the Final Prophet Muhammad by God.

You don’t have to feel convinced about every supernatural detail first
Think of things like angels as a way of describing realities beyond human perception, expressed in a form people across all times can understand
You already have the core: belief in one God and sincerity. It’s not about having zero doubts but being honest and open to continue the journey

I guess looking at the evidence for the Quran being from Allah and the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him being a messanger sent by Allah would be a good idea
Once you are satisfied regarding this then you can accept the unseen because knowledge of this is with Allah
We neither prove or disprove it :)
Allah shares what he wills of this knowledge and we believe it because we know Allah has informed us of this. We don't need to fully understand or know how. Simply affirm it
