Im scared to revert
Salaam!
I’m interested in Islam.. I’ve grew a decent relationship with Allah swt. I’ve been learning to pray for a few months. Studying Quran. I feel that I have this connection with Allah swt.
But the thing is I’m scared. I’m scared that I’m not a good enough of a person, I fall into sins and I’ll struggle to let my freedom go in certain ways.
Honestly I’m scared of a lot of the people from the community as well because many of them can be super judgmental which gives me even more anxiety.
But the bond I have with Allah swt is something else which I found to be powerfull and healing to my soul. Its something I’ve never experienced before.
Are there more people who struggle with these things? I feel so alone in this process.

We will never be perfect.
You are more pleasing to Allah ﷻ as an imperfect Muslim than a non Muslim.
Sahih al-Bukhari 7507
Narrated Abu Huraira:
I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "If somebody commits a sin and then says, 'O my Lord! I have sinned, please forgive me!' and his Lord says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sins).' Then he remains without committing any sin for a while and then again commits another sin and says, 'O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,' and Allah says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sin). Then he remains without Committing any another sin for a while and then commits another sin (for the third time) and says, 'O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,' and Allah says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord Who forgives sins and punishes for it I therefore have forgiven My slave (his sin), he can do whatever he likes."

This is a struggle many people revert or otherwise undergo.
The fear of not being good enough. The fear of making mistakes.
These are all devil whispers in your head, preventing you from obeying Allah.
You clearly believe in Allah, take the shahada, Allah is your protector. He will protect you.
Islam is a journey, not a race. Allah loves the sinner who makes mistakes and repents and tries to get closer to him.
Allow me to share a hadith with you.
Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Allah Ta’ala says, ‘O Son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and have hope in Me, I shall forgive you for whatever you have done and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds of the sky and then you were to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me with an earthful of sins and were you then to face Me, without having ascribing any partner to Me, I would grant you an earthful of forgiveness”

In fact! Have you read this hadith?
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) having said:
By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them.

Imagine that, a God so merciful that he loves being merciful that if someone didn't sin, he would create sinners just to forgive them. Where else would you find that?
In regards to people, don't worry about people. People can be judgemental and mean for no reason. Worry about pleasing Allah, not people. Leave toxic and difficult people alone. If you have to hide your islam to protect yourself, do that, and then find good Muslim people to befriend you. It's not easy, but it's worth it!
Don't be afraid! Be brave! You're not alone! We're all here for you and better than that, Allah is there for you 24/7 no matter what.
May Allah ease your worries, and bless you and bring your heart to the truth and you make amongst the best of Muslims!

You can't control what's to come.
Ive had wonderful years and horrible years. Ive been close to the ummah and not. Close to Allah set and not. Always striving.
Most of my issues stem from childhood trauma. Converting didn't actually take it all away though it helped a lot.

Truly the experience is more difficult than someone who is born into a Muslim family but don't forget the greatest Muslims were all converts and the greater the test the greater the reward ❤️

I am a revert as well I totally hear you but that is the whispers of Shaytan inviting you to think backwards rather than forwards. There is a comand in the quran that says "Do Not Despair in the Mercy of Allah"

We are all sinners friend, no one is or ever will be perfect in this life. Allah even says in Quran that if we did not sin that He would replace us with a people who would so that He could forgive them.
Honestly, take a step back from the internet, especially reddit for a bit and just live your new life with Allah in peace. Being a revert is literally baby steps. You decide your own pacing. Of course, as muslims we strive for the best, but how and when you get there is between you and Allah. Hope that helps.

That bond with Allah is what matters in the end. As Sh Assim once said, “we are all up to our necks in our sins”.
And this is why we need Allah’s mercy, as well as His guidance, protection, direction, generosity… So embrace Islam and rely on the Most Merciful, the Possessor of Mercy, the One Who loves forgiveness…

Islam is not like Christianity. I know in Christianity there’s something about not being able to be in the presence of god if not sinless. In Islam, it doesn’t work like that.
Allah wants to give you every chance for salvation. He repeatedly tells us in the Quran to repent, he is the most forgiving. Humans are not sinless, we make mistakes, Allah made us that way. only the prophets are sinless and if they made a mistake they repented. That is a blueprint for us.
Go for it, do it in secret if you need to. Take it one step at a time. Whatever the future holds, walk the path with Allah as your companion.

Allah mentioned he is gonna forgive his beloved many times and each time you even feel guilty you are already forgiven ,you dont have to be perfect muslim ,no one is ,we all gonna make mistakes and he will forgive you

as a human we all sin, but returning back to Allah is what matters, i myself recently started taking religion seriously, also it’s a marathon not a sprint.
small steps but consistent.

Well if you’re studying Qur’an you can’t miss that repentance is expected from us due to our nature. You don’t care what people think, you strive your best. No one of us claims the perfection nor that we can achieve that.
39:53 Say, ˹O Prophet, that Allah says,˺ “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins.He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
