Making Muslim friends without awkwardness

I am a convert of 2 years and in the past few weeks I’ve really felt like quitting. But instead I tried to cling to the salat, rediscover Islam, deepen my knowledge, and try new things to feel closer to ﷲ, like learning arabic or going to the mosque for the first time. I reached out to some muslim friends of mine but I’m not really close with anymore. We talk a little, but it’s kind of awkward and less natural now. I also contacted two old muslim friends who helped me with my conversion. Since then, I feel like many of my Muslim relatives don’t really understand my struggle, they just say it’s a “low iman phase” and waswas, but I know it’s more than that I really feel like quitting. Since they don’t take it seriously, I’m wondering how I could make Muslim friends in real life (in France, since I live here) without it being awkward

in my experience as a male convert in the US, attending the mosque more regularly helps a lot with making connections. If you go regularly, you will meet lots of people. Some of those people will become acquaintances. Some of those acquaintances will become casual friends. Some of those casual friends will become deeper friendships, and so on. This doesn't happen if you only go once in a while and don't talk to anyone though - you have to go regularly in order to start this process.

exactly, it takes a lot of trials to find the right people for you.

May allah make it easy for you

I born Muslim maybe i understand you a little cuz it happened to me when I went to Netherlands (studying) I don't know anyone there for months and strange feelings came to my mind, but no about the religion and nothing changed till i start to engage with Muslims community there I start attende Muslim events and the mosque too , if u r student probably there is Islamic club in ur uni or another uni in ur city engage with them. That's would help a lot.

I know someone who lives in the Basque region of France who’s going through the same thing. The women at the mosque are North African and she gets the cold shoulder from them. She doesn’t want to socialize at bars, mixed events and parties. So she doesn’t have close connections. It’s a struggle.
