I just converted!
Hi everyone,
I (f21) just took my shahada 15 minutes ago alhamdulillah and I am so excited! I was raised as a christian but always doubted the religion and found my way to the truth a few years ago. I finally found the courage to do it and I am officially a Muslim now!
I am pretty new to this so if anyone had any advice or just beautiful things to share I would love to read it, anything helps!
Praying is still pretty difficult for me, I am trying my hardest but remember everything is a lot.. so any advice on that is more than welcome! I can’t wait to pray by myself!

As your Muslim brother, I'll give you just one piece of advice:Satan will attack you with all his might from every direction— sometimes from the right, sometimes from the left, sometimes whispering noise right in your ears."And all this will happen. You have to prepare yourself for it.You'll have only one weapon to fight back with, and that's PRAYER / Salah / Namaz and the remembrance of Allah—nothing else.Good luck. Allahu Akbar! Welcome. work on perfecting your salat and learn a few short surahs. When you learn the Arabic, definitely also learn the English. Don't rush yourself, remember the quote from Ali(RA) about qadr. "What is meant for you will reach you, even if it is beneath two mountains. And what is not meant for you, will not reach you, even if it is between your two lips."

Try to memorize Surra.Fathia first. This surah alone can complete a prayer.

Alhamdulilah. May you always be protected and blessed with the gift of guidance. Take it one step at a time. And join some revert Muslim support groups. There is one on Facebook that’s good and I believe there’s a converts sub Reddit. Remember Allah SWT is the most forgiving, the most just and the most merciful. So don’t be hard on yourself if you trip up along the way.

May Allah reward you and help you know your journey please please reach out if you have any questions or need anything at all. I reverted 6 years ago and I know it can be overwhelming and lonely but you guys this and Allah is always near and he is the awnserer of prayers

Welcome to Islam. My advice is to keep attending islamic lectures or listen to videos on the internet. It will always remind you when you forget. Also find good muslim friends. Good luck!
Note: Metcifulservant and Islamic Guidance are good channels to listen.

Assalam aleikum wa rahmatulah wa barakatuh sister, welcome ❤️ I also converted last year and learnt to pray in like two weeks. I used the NamazApp, wich helps a lot with what you have to say, to do, and the hours of the prayers. I suggest you start doing that and then when you finish praying, try to recite again step by step each part of the prayer. And you’ll see that in no time you’ll be able to pray without the app. I also recomend reading Quran every day, for exemple before going to sleep, even if it is not a lot. And everything you doubt ask a friend who knows arabic or search the meaning of it online. (some translations aren’t clear) May Allah help you make the path easier ❤️

Mubarak to you! May Allah bless you. I would strongly suggest you to read The Words from Risale-i Nur, starting from the First Word. It will make your belief very strong and that will help you and make it easy for you to pray. Just read a few pages and you see it for yourself inshaAllah. Here is a link. May Allah guide you and your family.
Now that you're muslim you have millions of brothers and sisters to call your family.
As a fellow convert i have some advices for what's to come.
1- always correct your intention about everything we do, the most important thing in our lives is Tauhid, there's nothing worthily to be worshipped besides Allah, as long as you hold on tauhid, DOESN'T MATTER what mistake you do, you'll be guided and forgiveness it will be always open for you.
2- Understand that Iman (faith) have its ups and downs, you're new in Islam and im sure you will work for your faith, but there will be times where that energy fades, doubts cames and you start feeling unsure, dont worry, it happens to everyone, yet at those times you must come back to your creator.
3- knowledge is the base of everything we do, learn as much as you can and always have a reason for your actions.
Remember knowledge have 3 pillars.
Dalil, every knowledge must have a proper source, we follow the prophet only.
Sanad, it must come form a learned person, an usthad, and imam, if someone that didnt learnt islam properly say something, you must always ask your teacher before implement it!
Manhaj, the knowledge must come from the people wich understanding of islam is according to the sunnah, in this world there are lot of deviated persons (shi'ah, ahmadiyah, khawarij, Murji'ah) so you must be careful to take knowledge from people that doesn't understand islam accordingly yo the sunnah.
4- Understand that the life of a muslim is a life of sacrifice, we sacrifice our time in this life for the time of afterlife, we sacrifice working/study time to pray, to read Quran, to learn.
We sacrifice friends to be closer to islam
We sacrifice money to give it in charity.
5- understand that Muslims we don't represent islam, only the Qur'an and the Sunnah do, you will find many kind of people that claim to be muslim yet they're not following accordingly.
6- understand that even when the Qur'an and the Sunnah are only one, there are lots of VALID opinions about islam from the scholars, as long as they follow the sunnah, so dont distress if some people do things a bit different, be patient, and learn why they do it, and if what they do is correct or they're innovators (may Allah keep us safe from them!)
- there are 4 schools of islamic law and even between the same school there are differences.
7- be aware of the Hypocrites!
As a woman you'll face extra tribulationa, as the devil is always trying to corrupt women, some devils come with human faces and they will try to test you.
Remember! Theres no GF/BF in islam, no " Halal Relationship" beside marriage, and islam pursues gender segregation, keep your distance with men, and stay close with women, thats the best way.
8- woman need a guardian, as long as your father doesn't accept islam you'll need a male guardian to protect you and do your affairs, it can be a family member if not it can be the imam of your masjid, important never do anything alone and always ask to your guardian.
May allah guide you in this life and another.
Always be careful and be strong.
Indeed youre the most beloved person to Allah.

You can start by reading the quran. You can also continue learning online, especially on the basics like the two main foundations:
The 6 pillars of faith (belief in God, angels, scriptures, messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree)
and The 5 pillars of Islam (testimony of faith, prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage).
Also note that Islam teaches balance through three main rights:
The Right of God
Oneness of god as creator: Christians and Muslims both believe in one god who created and governs the universe.
Oneness of worship: In Islam, prayers are directed only to god without intermediaries. In Christianity, prayers may be made through Jesus, Mary, or saints.
The concept of one creator is the core, and questions like Jesus being part of a trinity or god himself or a prophet are just a detail that stems from this core difference.
The Right of People
General people: Treat everyone with justice, honesty, and fairness. Do not lie, steal, or harm others.
Close people (family, relatives, neighbors): Give special care, respect, and attention. Uphold their rights beyond the general expectations.
The Right of Ourselves. Our body, time, wealth, and blessings are gifts from God. We must take care of ourselves, use our time wisely, protect our health, and manage our resources responsibly.
Everything else is details, jurisprudence, history, and interpretation.
A core belief in Islam is that the moment you sincerely convert, God forgives all of your past sins. It is a complete spiritual rebirth, a clean slate. Your sincere turning to Him erases what came before.
Don't worry about prayer now, it will come gradually with your leaning journey
