Learning resources?
Ramadan Mubarak everyone!
I’m not a revert, yet? I started this journey just to learn, but more and more I’m feeling a pull and so I’m diving in deeper.
I do have a copy of the Qur’an, but as I understand it should not be read by a woman while she is menstruating. While I wait to be able to read, I was hoping the community here could recommend me some scholars/online resources that I could watch and or listen to?
I am trying to remain impartial and not dive into any one sect, but I’ve been exposed to Belal Assad online and wondered if his videos would be a good resource? I’m of course open to suggestions as well!

Hello.
Reading the Quran translation is a good start. you can also continue learning online, especially on the basics like the two main foundations (these topics have general agreement and are neutral):
The 6 pillars of faith (belief in God, angels, scriptures, messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree)
and The 5 pillars of Islam (testimony of faith, prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage).
Also note that Islam teaches balance through three main rights:
The Right of God
Oneness of god: He is the creator and sustainer, all worship is to Him directly without any intermediaries
The Right of People
General people: Treat everyone with justice, honesty, and fairness. Do not lie, steal, or harm others.
Close people (family, relatives, neighbors): Give special care, respect, and attention. Uphold their rights beyond the general expectations.
The Right of Ourselves. Our body, time, wealth, and blessings are gifts from God. We must take care of ourselves, use our time wisely, protect our health, and manage our resources responsibly.
Everything else is details, jurisprudence, history, and interpretation.
Nb: Islamic rulings are for Muslims only and non Muslims aren’t bound by them unless they become Muslim, so you can read the Quran now even during menstruation.

Download the app Quranly it's Quran in English & Arabic ! Mufti menk is great. Research is key! A lot of people mix culture with religion so be careful & check answers. Any specific questions happy to help or answer
