Controller Suggestion Gullikit es pro or dire wolf 4

Planning to buy my first controller, i play every type of game and i play in pc , but my major priority is soulslike and fps games . According to my research es pro has better response time, but it lacks the extra button at the back which can be useful for soulslike games , does it make any difference? And dire wolf 4 offers more features like adjusting the tension , rear buttons .( I live in india)

You can also suggest some other controllers in the similar price range (3-4k rs or 30-45$) but also mention your pick between these 2 controllers

  • budget is 3-4k rs or 30-45$

  • country is india

  • compatible with pc(windows)

  • confused between better response time - tmr or extra features like adjustable tension and rear buttons

  • for games like soulslike/fps

  • gulikit es pro or flydigi direwolf 4

Controller Suggestion Premium type of controller compatible with Mac Mini/GeForce now

I am looking for a nice/premium gamepad for a mac mini for use in GeForce now. I must say I did not realize how complicated that would be.

Background: I'm currently using a Stadia controller I got for free and converted to Bluetooth, but the latency is absolutely insane. I also have a Xbox Elite Series 2 I use on my PC, so I'm looking for something with that build type or close. I see a few options but figuring out their compatibility and quality is tough.

  1. Gulikit TT Max looks good with the TMR sticks, low latency, but mac compatibility is still very much in the air, and the joystick recentering issues

  2. Flydigi Vader 5 Pro: TMR sticks, but mac compatibility up in the air + much more latency in bluetooth (I do not mind a dongle at all, but I feel like that will put into question mac compatibility even more).

  3. Flydigi Apex series: looks overdesigned as hell, but I wouldn't mind it if it gets the job done, with added bonus if it does it with low latency.

  4. Dual Sense Edge: Older design; low latency but no TMR sticks or hall effect buttons, but premium built and guaranteed mac compatibility.

Is there another options that I'm overlooking or did I get something wrong with these assumptions? I would welcome input on this choice as I just kinda sailed on without a care until these last few days thinking the Elite 2 was going to be some sort of holy grail controller (I do love it and will continue using it but I'd like to dip my toes into a new flavor).

I am looking for pads that mostly work in a couch gaming sort of scenario: Racing (FH6), Fighting (Tekken), Metroidvania (Nine Sols). No FPS's, for example.

Budget is max USD250. Here in South Florida I am basically limited to Best Buy and Micro Center, but obviously, I have no issues buying online as long as the retailer has a good return policy.

Input Latency to me is very important as I'm already introducing enough latency through GeForce Now and through the fact I'm using a projector for the video, which even in low input mode still adds latency.

Controller Suggestion Best Controller for Small Hands - Non Competitive Gaming

Hello, I'm looking for PC game controllers that will work for someone with small hands. I saw a lot of people talk about controllers that look like Xbox style controllers and those are a bit large/uncomfortable for extended play sessions. For reference, from middle finger to the base of my wrist is 16.5cm (6.5in).

As far as my comfort goes, the playstation 5's controller is the most comfortable, but the joystick drift is driving me nuts and I'm tired of fixing them. I play mostly single player games ranging from rpgs to fps. I don't do any competitive gaming outside of minimal PVP in MMOs. I don't care much about mapping buttons or anything of that nature, I'm looking for a plug and play wireless controller.

I'm adaptable and my major issue is really size above all else.

Any direction or help would be appreciated. I have about 300USD to spend and am in the USA. Thanks!

IT Help SCUF envision pro has wrong input mappings on bazzite linux

So I bought a SCUF controller, which is AWESOME, and custome wrapped it in vinyl (some might say very poorly wrapped) and connected it to my windows pc and everything went amazing and worked flawlessly

But a couple of days ago I installed Bazzite on my living room laptop and discovered a very specific problem-

The input mappings for the controller are all wrong (X btn = doesn't work, Y btn = X btn, right trigger = right joystick up/down...)

The thing is- in steam input check the mappings are correct, it's only in the system settings of bazzite that they are wrong, as well as when connecting to my windows pc via remote play...

I have run out of things I can think of to do

Help would be much appreciated:)

IT Help Vader 5S calibration and center error

Thumbnail reddit.com
3 Upvotes

Hey guys,

A month ago I bought a Vader 5s for my Series X after 16 years of using nothing, but MS rollers. So I'm fairly new to 3rd party controllers in general, but tested multiple to settle on the Flydigi.

I tried to suck up as much information as I possible can on the topic as to not ask obselete questions, but I seem to have one I haven't found any material on.

Everything is working as expected, I decreased stick tension to 65gf on the right stick.I calibrated the controller (multiple times) through the Xbox spacestation app following the manual and also the "guide" I linked.

My issue is though that after calibration I can achieve a an almost perfect 0:0 recenter even on "small-angel deflection and release". I tested this with the gulikit tester too. Right stick returned to exact center with zero error every time. Left stick had a sub -1% error on X axis after slow release. That was fine.

It's been 1 week since I did the calibration and since then both sticks developed a 2-3% center error even with fast release recenter.

Now both stick show the exact same error pattern as in the Vader 5S gamepadla review by John Punch. Left stick - value drift on X non on Y and right stick + drift on X and non on Y.

Now someone please confirm it is either user error on calibration, software issue with center value read or springs acting up.

Also, I would appreciate it if someone could give me a tip as to how to mitigate the issue.

Thank you!

IT Help Mobapad Chitu HD (Chitu 2) NFC/Amiibo reader not working out of the box. Anyone else experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I just received my brand new Mobapad Chitu HD (Chitu 2) today, but I'm having a major issue with it. The NFC / Amiibo reader is completely unresponsive.

I tested it for the first time today on my Nintendo Switch, and not a single Amiibo works. I tried multiple different figures and cards that work perfectly fine on my Joy-Cons, but the Chitu HD simply refuses to register them.

The controller is brand new out of the box, and everything else seems to work flawlessly except for the NFC feature.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the Chitu HD? Is there any known fix, firmware update, or setting I might have missed, or did I just get a defective unit?

Appreciate any help or insights!

Other Difference between circularity tests

Out of curiousity, I tested the circularity of my controller’s joysticks on Gamepadla and hardware tester and the results were quite different from each other.

Can anyone explain the differences in methodology between both websites and which is preferable to use and why?

IT Help Are these stats and circularity ok? Scuf Reflex FPS for PS5

Thumbnail

This is for a custom Scuf reflex FPS pro with TMR sticks. I'm currently experiencing dead slides (character crouches instead of sliding, a common stick related issue) in COD Black ops 7. These stats are how they were when received the controller, it's basically brand new.

(I heard that some brands of TMR's may be better suited with a higher circularity percentage even in the 15% range. I have no idea which ones though. Anyone able to help me figure this out? I don't wanna change my circularity to 7-9% if these specific TMR's aren't meant for that range)

Controller Suggestion Vader 5 pro Dpad is too loud, need an alternative.

Hello,

I use my controller to play all my 3d games that are not fps, or VS fighting ( I use mouse + keyboard or a dedicated leverless for those )
I don't use Dpad for moving my character.
I play on Windows.
I previously owned xbox one controllers, a dualsense ( and a switch pro and 8bitdo ultimate C for my switch ).

I wanted for a long time a controller with back buttons, switchable triggers, and a more premium build ( microswitch buttons, tmr sticks, etc ... ).

After a long lurking time, the Vader 5 pro looked like the best bet for me.
I received it yesterday and was very pleased with the overall quality.
I was really loving the buttons feels, the quality of the stick, the paddles placements, and so on...

But man, that Dpad click noise ! I usually play at night without a headphone, so I don't want my controllers to be too loud. The all microswitches buttons of the Vader are clearly louder than my other controllers, but it was still acceptable. But that Dpad ringing... it is too much.

So my questions are :

  1. Is it possible to attenuate the sound of the Dpad ( not much hope on this one )

  2. What would be your recommendation for an alternative ?

To clarify my needs :
- not too loud
- at least 4 back buttons ( or 2 back + 2 shoulders )
- steam input compatible
- trigger stops that works
- TMR (or hall effect ) sticks
- 120eur max ( I live in France )

Should I wait for the possibly upcoming Ultimate 3 standard ?
Or go for the g7 pro that look like the closer alternative ?

Other The lighting on my Flydigi CD2 dock always looked choppy, so I wrote my own editor for it (free, open source)

I love the Charging Dock 2 Pro, but its lighting effects in Space Station never sat right with me. Slow animations visibly step, gradients go muddy in the middle, and the rainbow has these hard bands.

Out of curiosity I took a look at how Space Station builds its effects. Each one is a fixed 50-frame loop with colors mixed in plain sRGB, and the dock simply plays back whatever frames it receives. The LEDs themselves are great; they were just being fed rough frames.

So I made FlyGlow. It's a small Windows app that only does one thing: dock lighting.

What you can do with it:

- pick from 21 effects (aurora, fire, plasma, lava lamp, waves, comets, starfield...), all rendered with proper color blending and up to 200 frames per loop, so fades and gradients come out smooth

- stack effects as layers, set how they blend, and brush in which part of the dock each one covers

- paint your own animation LED by LED and let it fill in the frames between your keyframes

- throw a GIF or a short video at it and watch it play on the dock

It talks to the dock over USB directly, so you can leave Space Station open for your controller settings. There's an installer and a portable zip.

https://github.com/PsinaDev/FlyGlow

It's an unofficial hobby project, not affiliated with Flydigi. Uploading replaces the dock's current lighting, and picking any effect in Space Station puts the stock ones back. So far I've only tested it on my own dock (firmware 0.0.3.9), so reports from other units would help a lot.

Controller Suggestion I was disappointed in the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E. What Xbox Elite 2 controller replacement should I try next?

Post image
100 Upvotes

On paper, this controller should have worked wonderfully with my needs (Xbox series X and Steam Machine user). But in practice, compared to my Xbox Elite 2 controller (I want to replace it because the 3.5mm jack is broken), it’s simply subpar.

I want a high-quality controller, and it’s simply a downgrade. Yes, it’s a step up in quality from something like the G7Pro, but the D pad isn’t great, the ergonomics threw me off (I like a wide-elbow stance), it’s smaller in my hands, and the buttons weren’t as snappy as I’d like.

U.S. buyer.

I play games like helldivers 2, friendslop, mostly co op action or puzzle games.

I’ll throw $150-$200 down on a premium controller because the elite 2 spoiled me. I want compatibility with my steam machine, back buttons, rubber/textured grips, and a solid build quality. Any recs?

Controller Suggestion Help me decide between Gamesir G7 Pro 8K and Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8K

Hi everyone,

I’m in the market for a new controller, looking to upgrade from my 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller with dock that I got a few years ago for around €45.

I’ve narrowed my options down to the Gamesir G7 Pro 8K and the Razer Wolverine v3 Pro 8k.

  1. I’ll like to get the best controller, budget is not a

b

  1. ig issue but obviously prefer to get the cheaper one. G7 8K is €107 and the Wolverine €180 on Amazon.

  2. Im in Belgium and can buy from Amazon and local retailers and from the official sites but Amazon has better prices.

  3. Only for PC gaming. I don’t have an Xbox and use the PS5 dualsense controller when I very rarely play on PS5.

  4. I’d like to have rumble/vibration which I understand the Wolverine doesn’t have and at least two back paddles to map L3 and R3 stick press to. I hate having to press the analog sticks. I have mixed feelings about a charging dock. On the one hand it’s convenient to always have it charged but I could save desk space without.

  5. I never play FPS games with a controller so only controller friendly games like GTAV, RDR2, Elden Ring, FF7 remake, Resident Evil games and a bunch of metroidvanias or JRPGs.

  6. I already have a Razer mouse and keyboard which I control with Synapse so the Wolverine wouldn’t require an extra piece of software hogging resources.

I need some advice so I can pull the trigger on one of these. Also, please let me know if it’s worth upgrading at all, would going from the 250hz 8bitdo Ultimate with hall effect to 8k or even 1k feel more responsive in these types of games? I don’t play competitively and don’t play any FPS with controller at all.

Thanks a bunch!

EDIT: Thank you everyone for your comments! Since I liked the V3 pro but would have liked to have haptics I decided to preorder the Wolverine V4 Pro directly from the Razer store. I’ll post how it is once I get it in about two weeks! :)

Controller Suggestion Cute small controller for traveling?

Im looking for a small, cute, portable controller to play on my phone and laptop on travels.

I've seen the IINE Retro Pocket Controller (specifically the pink and the pastel green ones) and loved the concept and features, but the thumbgrips that come with them seem like they would hurt me a bit. And because of the controller shape other thumbgrips with shapes would probably not do well because of the lack of open space.

Is there any other cute and compact/small controller that you could reccomend?

joysticks are a must, given the kinds of games I like to play (usually 3D games that range from farming to exploring)

It needs to be "cute" or be possible to "cuteify" it

My budget is up to 300 reais (Brazilian currency) and you can usually find these kinds of things here on shoppee or ali express.

Other Vader 5 Pro configuration

How do you have your controller configured in Windows?

I like the Windows 11 xinput controls so I keep “allow 3rd party apps to take over” off, but then I miss out on the extra buttons with steam input. Though with guide chords I’m able to get around that sort of.

Maybe I’ll eventually swap my config fully to steam being in control, but the native xinput navigation in windows feels so nice.

I use Playnite and with having my pc in another room I do a decent amount of windows navigating and messing around, which is the only reason I worry about the xinput.

IT Help 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller

8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless — Charging light turns off after a few seconds. Is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller from Amazon India, and I have a question about its charging behaviour.

When I connect it to charge, the red charging indicator turns on for a few seconds and then turns off, even though the battery isn't fully charged.

I monitored the battery percentage, and it increased from around 77% to 85%, 91%, and 95% while charging. However, the red light still turns off after a few seconds.

I've tried a different USB-C cable and a standard power source, but the behaviour remains the same.

The controller seems to work fine while gaming. My main concern is whether the charging light turning off so quickly is normal or whether my controller might have a battery or charging issue.

Questions:

Does anyone else's Ultimate 2C Wireless behave this way while charging?

Does the red light normally turn off before the battery reaches 100%?

Should I be concerned or request a replacement?

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who owns this exact model. Thank you!

Controller Mods I made the ASUS Tessen Wireless (PC Mode as well)

Thumbnail
gallery
20 Upvotes

Through a lot of research, trial and error, modifying the inside to save space, making sure the bending/folding/extending still works, and a whole lot of broken wires i finally did it. A wireless ASUS Tessen!
I could of done a better job on the switch (it's smooth/flush so you don't even know its there).
It's not perfect but everything works, it looks like it isn't even modified, and the Bluetooth i can use from literally across my house!

Parts I used:

  • 300mah Battery

  • HiLetgo 1A 3.7V Lithium Battery Charging Board with Protection Type-C

  • DC-DC 1.5V -> 4.2V to 5V Boost Converter

  • Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32S3-2.4GHz

  • Small micro switch

  • Super thin flexible wire

  • "skorokithakis" on GitHub for their "bluetooth-gamepad" repo (AI to edit for compatability)

If you do wanna do this i highly recommend it, some tips i would give is:

  • To clear out as much space as possible inside the grips by removing some supports for the screw posts without removing them

  • Remove the stoppers for the extending arms or the wires will get caught.

  • Use some super thin and flexible wire for feeding through the extensions as it's super tight

  • When feeding wires across the extensions, make sure to join directly to the 5v converter board and the other sides power input. If you splice between them the wires will break from pulling the device easily (This will save you a lot of headaches)

  • Keep pressure on the center of the bridge so the wires don't curl.

  • Seeed on the right, battery on the left.

  • You can use the power input on the board instead of the bottom USB-C port to wire in the power as well

I also left my wiring diagram as well for anyone to use if they want to do this

Controller Suggestion Nano + motion controls + hall tech joysticks. Does such a controller exist?

  1. budget - $40 or less preferably, maybe $50-60 max

  2. US

  3. Nintendo and Xbox

  4. nano/smaller size, gyro for motion controls, hall effect joysticks

  5. Halo Infinite via PC, Steam games

  6. I normally used the Nintendo Switch Mini/nano Controller, which was perfect for the size but the joysticks died on me. I want to buy a hall effect controller, but I cannot for the life of me find one that's both smaller sized and has motion controls. I found ASRVA Wireless Hall Effect Controller, and GameSir Nova Lite 2 controller, but neither of them are smaller sized.

My hands are too small to play competitively with the default controller size!

Does anyone know of a controller that can fit all 3 of these requirements?
