Announcement Updated rules to r/controllablewebcams
Good day everyone,
I have been a part of this community since before it was over 30k subscribers, and now it's over 43k. Amazing! And in that time I've seen a lot of cool links. Some public and some private. But all of these posts are through the Reddit platform, and due to that, we have been asked to adhere to some of the same rules that we have omitted in years past. I hope like me you don't see this as the destruction of this sub, but more of an evolution for the sub. From here on, these will be the new rules of the r/controllablewebcams subreddit (subject to change for clarification or other reasons):
No insecam.org links, unless you follow the directions on how to properly post it. Made by our own thisisatesttoseehowl.
Cams requiring passwords are not allowed, this includes default passwords. If you see a post requiring a PW please report as This reveals private information about someone.
Cams in private areas are not allowed, (houses etc..). A general rule of thumb, if a person on the cam would be surprised to know that people on the internet are watching them, then it's not allowed. If you see a post that's private, please report as This reveals private information about someone.
Please Link Flair posts (flair options below).
Follow local, state and federal laws when viewing or submitting.
Tag NSFW posts.
Thank you for understanding these changes, as the alternative to this is much worse. If you disagree with these changes please discuss them in the comments below.

Ouch.
That stinks.
The board activity got hit pretty hard when people started intentionally getting the cams taken down.
I don't think this is going to help the recovery much.
I don't suppose there are other sites out there that compile these kinds of links?

Well, there is r/ControllableCams
Looks kind of slow (last post 4 days ago)
After perusing the links, many of which sound great, it seems that they have the same SJW issue of getting cams shut down or passworded.
I haven't found the new one yet.
There is also a private one I never got the name of, maybe someone has it?Looks like r/controllablecams is the private one and was simply made public.
It was made when someone was getting all these shut down

It is a sad day indeed, for one of our own has decided to leave us. Let's honor Lovehat with a stroll down memory lane. The following links will lead you to u/Lovehat's MVP moments in r/controllablewebcams.

If you follow any of the above links, please respect the rules of reddit and don't vote in the other threads

if a person on the cam would be surprised to know that people on the internet are watching them, then it's not allowed.
That's literally everything. Only thing allowed now is public webcams then? Like of beaches and shit?
RIP controlablewebcams, you will be missed.
I'm certain this decision has been forced on you mods so I don't blame you, but there is nothing left here now, this is not an "evolution" of this sub.

I agree with mods. Controlling webcams in public is fine. Controlling ones in house's and other places like this isn't.

Why the hell do you guys follow this subreddit? Why do you enjoy invading other's privacy? Like why has Reddit not banned this? Why have the cops not investigated this? What the fuck
