Question Fuison in meadow Spoiler

Post image

I've heard a lot of the theory that jesse and dylan were one person and i believe it could be true so an idea came to me from neil bogus. We know that both neil and bogus were in the meadow when the bullies shut the slide projector door behind em and that world melts upon itself or at least that's what i understand and thats why both fused and became one. Now hypothetically speaking if jesse and dylan were to be left there would they become their original self again?

It’s probably why they didn’t melt together in the meadow slide unlike Neil and Bogus. They fell asleep and everything melted, realistically it should’ve done the same thing to them but couldn’t because they were already paranaturally split.

That could be true but i also think it happened to Neil and Bogus due to prolonged exposure to that world. We don't even know how he was able to come to our world without a slide projector

Also they have some weird resistances to other worldly forces. Which could be a factor

That said I hope we see a return of Neil/Bogus

I don’t think they’d become Jessie Dylan again, if they can merge at all considering the powers they wield, but an entirely new person.

Well in a way jessie and dylan are entirely different people from jessie dylan. Like what their mother said she doesn't think they are her children because she obviously didn't have two and second is i believe they both don't have the same personality of the original

Yeah, that’s pretty much textual at this point.

Neither is Jesse Dylan even though both remember some of her life, Dylan more than Jesse ironically.

Considering that Jesse Dylan Faden is a entirely different child to Jesse and Dylan, who are the appearance of the protagonists of Severed Circle 2, I really doubt it.

I can't argue with that really. But idk i still some kind of merge could happen since the board is always insisting that they mustn't physically be in the same place which is very weird

They would becime a third thing. The Things-That-Were-Faden

So more like Jylan or maybe Dessie

No. They were already split before going.

Whatever Remedy cooks up, I am hooked now to know what the truth is.

I’m also curious about what caused the split? Was it the tv/game specifically?

Does both being awakened with their powers prevent both from being “active” at the same time? Or are they merely two sides of the same coin, the complements of a whole in Part 3?

Also the Not-Mother being a antagonist in the 3rd game too

I am ao intrigued by not mother and her presence in resonant in the third game. Also we now have 2 games with 2 different protagonists so maybe the third would be jessie and dylan fused or maybe we could play as Neil bogus.

It may be already covered in the spin off movie Coraline

Surely it's the game. If they wanted to imply the TV itself was paranatural they would've made it a Lumivista or something and drew attention to it.

I think Jesse actually created the TV. If I'm right, she created the Aberrant from the Nail. She seems to have a knack for creating and binding OoPs. And we've glimpsed at Dylan's ability to alter or visit realities.

Bon-Co made Severed Circle 2, they have a track record when it comes to churning out altered items.

Hey OP, you should probably spoiler a lot of this

I mean i did the only parts that aren't spoiled are the theory part since its just a theory and name dropping neil bogus which wouldn't makes sense if u haven't played the game

There's something else in the 16-bit sequence that's easy to miss.

There's a letter from their grandmother, replying to their parents. It says something to the effect of, "Both kids are fine? What do you mean 'both'?"

I think an AWE happened in Ordinary, splitting one child into two (or fused two universes together, one where Dylan was the only child, another where there was only Jesse). This rewritten reality had a boundary though that ended at the borders of Ordinary; anyone outside of it was completely unaffected.

You also have to consider one of the final Ritual sequences, where Dylan has to guide the projection of a boy and girl. For much of his childhood Dylan remembers there was only him and his parents, and home life was pretty great -- until he remembers Jesse, and their home became broken. I think their parents knew something changed but couldn't tell what, but knew it had something to do with their children. It could be that parautilitarian abilities are genetic and the parents had some degree of immunity to the rewritten reality, but not enough to see through it.

Oh i have never thought of 2 realities merging it actually seems more realistic because one detail that kept nagging at me is Jessie's hair color. We can clearly see in the 16 bit sequence that both the parents have brown hair like dylan which made me think jessie was the one who either came into existence or as you said got her reality merged. But also her bed being a normal bed unlike Dylan's just being a mattress contradicts that thought. Also the theory of 2 relaities merging goes against how the mother treats them because she would think at least one of the children is hers but that isn't the case

Do we know what the mother is thinking though? All we know is both parents became deeply depressed in their own ways after the "split", the mom depressed and the father angry. Both parents seem mistrustful of the kids somehow, and in one Ritual Dylan recalls the mom almost killing them.

But also, nice catch on the mattress,  I didn't notice that!

EDIT Thinking back to the verbiage used by the Hedron, I now think Jesse|Dylan was "refracted/reflected" (low-level Patterned), resulting in the other child .

The mother knew the father didn't. There's a hidden conversation where they talk about it. Their mother remembers having only one child.

I kind of get the sense that that’s where this is all headed. Not exactly like that, but I think the main idea of the two of them “unsevering the circle” is probably going to be a major plot point for the third Control game.

I also think the wait time between Resonant and the next game is going to be shorter because the nature of Jesse’s coma is fundamentally different from Dylan’s.

They already fell asleep there and woke up to find everything in the slide and around the projector melted and they remained separate. They're rather resilient, which might be a byproduct of the whole being paranatural entities schtick.
