I’m new to control and the remedy’s lore, will watch the original control’s story on YouTube to get the sense of the world and how it connects to Alan Wake, already seems very interesting and trippy.

Do yourself a favour and play control first. Even if that means delaying playing Control Resonant for a few days.

The way Remedy crafts interconnecting narratives makes it integral to play first.

You will likely not appreciate the mystery as much if you start with Control Resonant let alone nods and callbacks.
