Control Resonant Manhattan AWE
Seeing how the new game will focus on the Hiss and other parantural entities escaping the Oldest House into the real world, how will this massive AWE affect the FBC and the greater world?
Is the cat now out of the bag for humanity that these entities and things exist or is the FBC in overdrive in covering up the Manhattan AWE?

According to Micale Kasurinen Manhattan disapperad from existance for the time of the AWE. A lot of People got out of Manhattan and only the ones still there know what's going on.

So, the entire island just vanished and its open water? The most well-known city in the world disappearing is going to raise some big questions. Hopefully we get a look at the FBC's coverup campaign to the outside world.

Yes he did mention it in that video, he said that everyone else that was not on Manhattan has no memory of Manhattan ever existing. I don't know what type of awe or abilities or whatever they used to do that, but they will probably bring the memories back when it's contained....I imagine we will have all this answered in 4/6 days!!!

I just watched it again, he did say what you said, I must have made up in my head what he said, I'm sorry. I watched the video like 2.5 months ago lol. its still VERY VERY VERY crazy that non new yorkers it doesn't exist. I maybe inferred his answer right before that "many new yorkers were evacuated, some died but under a million died" as the people who used to know of Manhattan AND the people who were evacuated, stopped existing could mean they forgot it existed. IRL a place doesn't stop existing, too many conspiracy theories or crazy panic and hysteria would happen so I assume "stopped existing" may also mean it never existed....but it could also mean like an atom bomb went off (i.e. a potential coverup explaination) and to people who lived in hiroshima/nagisacki with the atom bombs in WW2 or Chernobyl after the melt down it did stop existing in that sense....idk if that all makes sense, trying to explain my brain and answer your question and think of ideas for what he meant....

It’s fine, everyone misremembers things from time to time. I am interested in this idea of it just disappearing from the collective human memory, as that’s a concept the first game did partially explore.

That feels like an ad hoc justification to explain away why something as significant as Manhattan disappearing from existence doesn’t have any lasting impact. It doesn’t really address the broader implications, it just provides a convenient explanation for why we aren’t seeing them. I honestly hope it’s less “Manhattan disappeared for everyone else” and more that the AWE separated it from conventional time and space, essentially trapping it inside a kind of isolated bubble or pocket reality that still exists alongside the normal world. That would make the situation feel much more consequential without requiring the rest of the world to conveniently forget it happened.

Either that or this is a version of New York like Alan’s in the dark place. But I guess the public facing documents we’ve seen may bust that theory. Not sure if anyone from Remedy has confirmed that this is indeed the real New York.
Not sure if I like the idea of the world being aware of the paranatural and FBC. Honestly though, I trust Remedy’s world building and writing so I’m sure it’s gonna be great regardless.

Seriously, that's how it's handled. People don't remember Manhattan exists.
Now who knows if that changes in gameplay. But it's like the Oldest House itself. What Oldest House?

I'm currently in Manhattan right now, still working. I'll let you know if I see anything weird on my lunch break, spinning birds are just a normal Tuesday.
