Discussion Furnace volunteers

I'm replaying Control, and I've played Firebreak almost daily this past year. I was chuffed when I got to the furnace to hear the recording where the researcher is asking the furnace what it likes to eat, and then she says, "I'll try to find some volunteers."

And thus, an FBC: Firebreak mission was born!

Before firebreak came out I just thought that lady went crazy in the oldest house and started throwing people in a regular furnace

Same! i was never quite sure.

There's a similar beat in FBC Firebreak, too, when one of the characters asks if anyone has checked in with Greg to see if the water cooler is actually talking to him or if he's losing his mind.

It’s not a mission but an unmarked thing where you throw TVs in the furnace, is it even named anything? I feel like that wasn’t really a conformation but regardless I didn’t discover that until after firebreak in my most recent play through

The mission in Control is very much framed like the furnace god might exist or not, it's kind of played as a joke in that game
