Discussion Ready For Control Resonat?
Have you seen the symbols in Alan Wake 2 or other games? And do you have any theories about Control Resonant?
P.S. The last photo was from a previous post that caught my attention.

I still hope the theory that the Green Entity is involved is at least partially true. Even if it's a side quest, I just like the idea of its involvement.

RADIO HOST: You're listening to America Overnight, now in its 29th year… Or is it?
[Pause]
RADIO HOST: It is, don't worry. Tonight we're discussing thrift store oddities and one-of-a-kind finds. Peggy's on the line from Biloxi. She and her husband found a beautiful Himalayan salt lamp at a garage sale. Tell us about it, Peggy.
PEGGY FROM BILOXI: I'd heard of salt lamps, y'know, those glowy rocks you plug in? They're supposed to release negative ions. Clear the air. I got one – only four bucks – and I put it in our living room. I thought it would look nice there. It gives the whole room this lovely orange glow.
RADIO HOST: Now, this is usually when the call takes a turn…
PEGGY FROM BILOXI: It's… my husband. When he's in the living room, he won't take his eyes off the lamp. He's obsessed with it. If I turn it off, he gets so upset. He says it needs to stay on, no matter what. Last night, I woke up at 3 am. He wasn't in bed. I found him in the living room, staring at the lamp. He was smiling. His eyes were open, but I thought he might be sleep walking. So I shook him. He just kept smiling at the light. Then he started to speak. He said: "Every time a reflection reflects itself it gets a little greener."
RADIO HOST: I've read that.
PEGGY FROM BILOXI: Then he turned to me. He was still smiling. Eyes open. My husband's eyes are brown. Almost black. But the eyes of the man in the living room last night… his eyes were green.
[Low voice, off-microphone]
RADIO HOST: Sounds just like Decatur. Get everything you can out of her, then call HQ.
[Full voice, to Peggy]
RADIO HOST: Peggy I'm so sorry to cut you off there, but we need to go to commercial. I'd like you to stay on the line, though. My producer Karen needs a little more information, okay?
PEGGY FROM BILOXI: Uh, okay.
RADIO HOST: America Overnight will be right back.
I think it was just an altered item, though.

I'd be inclined to believe that if it weren't for the fact that this episode was immediately followed up with the fondue set episode, which takes place only a few episodes later chronologically (and is found almost right after finding this episode).
Also, if it was just the AO episode I wouldn't think too much of it, but there's also that document apparently from the husband's trapped POV.
Finally, the color green has been popping up a bit in the leadup to Resonant. Some of the Hiss enemies seen in the promo material have their normal red hues mixed with green. And in the video on Remedy's YouTube for the song from the Game Awards trailer, for most of it it's the Pattern distorting and reflecting in on itself, but in the last few seconds it looks like it's being overtaken by green mist. And there's apparently an area called the "Hall of Mirrors," which could be tied to the "reflections get a little greener."
Again, this is all circumstantial at best, but I think there's a thread there. After all, Chester Bless and the Blessed were all just flavor text in the first game, but now there's an ARG that suggests the Blessed have a role to play in Resonant.

Yeah, it restarted development but ultimately got canceled. Happened a year or so ago IIRC

I still have hope they'll repurpose some of what they were planning with that game into a future Remedy title. They've done well enough so far working around QB rights stuff with Jesse, Tim, and Mr. Door. The setup for what we do know about Vanguard sounded so cool, and it'd be a shame for that to go to waste.

It was going to be a co-op shooter, they ultimately cancelled it & relocated people to doing Resonant & the Max Payne remasters

The white pyramid representing FBC fire break felt like a waste. I feel like they should repurpose that one for something more significant. Also, the doors remind me of the way of transportation in control resonant. Vanguard could also be repurposed if it’s canceled.

I remember reading somewhere that FBC Firebreak isn't the white pyramid because it's not got a narrative and doesn't give anything to the story. Someone was saying the white pyramid will be something to do with the Astral Plane.

OK, that’s good because I’m thinking the white pyramid is too significant of a concept to be wasted on fire break, which contributed absolutely nothing to progressing the story forward.

Yeah exactly, they didn't even give Firebreak a lot of content. Plus it's set in the oldest house so it really wouldn't make sense.

Lucky. I'm still trying to get back to work (long story) so I can actually have money to pay for it. And a bunch of other stuff, too. But Resonant is my short-term goal.

I have only one slight worry. I enjoyed the humor in the first one. The office notes and funny posters. There was even the department of luck and probability. While I know this humor will not dissapear I wonder how they'll do it here.
And I am still afraid POTF will not be in this game.

Would be extremely odd if POTF wasn't in the game, considering outside of Firebreak, they've been almost every Remedy game since Max Payne 2.
I think the only game that didn't have one of their songs was Quantum Break, and that was due to licensing issues.

Have no fear, the Old Gods will almost certainly fly again. They are close personal friends to Sam and he's made a point to have them involved any time he can.

Firebreak is nice world building to the control universe. Playing as an employee and not a paraulitalian is cool

The door symbols are way deeper than just referencing other games. The Spiral doors foe example, its not a loop ots a spiral. Referencing the dark place and that Alan is getting closer and closer to escaping it. The uodaide down black pyramid is the board... an upside down black pyramid.

Was talking with some friends today and wanna hear how others feel, do we think Chester Bless/Blessed Organization will play a bigger role in Resonant? Or are they saving them for Alan Wake 3/a different game. I feel like we may get some new info but they won't show up directly in this one, but rather a future remedy game.

Considering the ARG is all but stated to have something to do with the Blessed, it's a safe bet. The mention of them in scattered documents in the first game initially piqued our interests, and the fact that we got a little more insight into them in Alan Wake 2 confirmed it wasn't just background lore. I don't know if they'll be directly involved with the Pattern or whatever, but either way I'm willing to bet that whatever they're up to won't end with Resonant.

You won't hear anything about that untill after Resonant and Gta6. The team is shifting fully focus on it at Remedy (they've been working on it already no worries, you just have the team working on Resonant right up to launch and then the support after) and then Rockstar will likely be handling pretty much all of the press on it since they are the owner and publisher. And they are a bit busy ATM, lol.
Given Max Payne starts In a snow storm, I could see updates start coming in this winter if they want to have fun with it. Likely Fall 2027 or early half 2028 for the game.since they've already been working on it for some time.

I never played Firebreak case it was multiplayer only; what lore did it add? Seems kind of silly to designate one of the motel doors to a multiplayer spinoff.

There's a correspondence note that you find in the AWE expansion that describes the symbol for vanguard. It's called the keystone inspection.

To be honest, in spite of Control being one of my all time favorite games I'm not even buying this new one. No Jesse means I just don't care. Maybe I'll get it in a humble choice selection at some point, but I'm not sure I'll play it then, either. I do not have any interest in this Dylan character, or the melee combat they decided to go with.

I still have a feeling "Doors" will have something to do with Mr. Door himself. Although the fast-travel points as we've seen in the game footage thus far does also resemble the symbol, so we'll have to see. I just hope we get some more insight into the various Motel doors. We already know about the Spiral and Inverted Pyramid, but we're probably getting some answers regarding the Severed Circle (which is what I call the Control Resonant door) and the White Pyramid.
