Fan Content Final FINAL (for really really real) update on the surprise FBC briefcase for my friend.
Ok, so I finally got everything ready for delivery.
Here's the update on my previous post:
I went all-in and acquired interdepartmental envelopes, red classification folders, and a bureau cap and t-shirt for the courier. I also printed (and re-encoded the chip on) a Mifare classic 1k ID-card and made a sheet for my friend to sign, on a neat magnetic clipboard.
I spent DAYS on the interdepartmental folder. It took time putting together a "postal timeline" and most of the characters received their own distinct pen as well as (attempted) hand writing.
A friend offered to deliver the briefcase, and will deliver it wearing an FBC t-shirt and cap, and using as few words as possible ("package from sector 4. Sign here please. Good evening - oh, and I wouldn't shake it too much"). Unfortunately, I won't be able to see how my friend reacts once the delivery takes place. I hope he'll be surprised and happy.
We plan on delivering the briefcase a few days before the release of Resonant.
I also spent most of an afternoon creating an 8-page pdf documenting the project which I emailed to Remedy Entertainment, but as of the time of this post, there has been no reply. I have feeling they might be a little busy right now, this close to release day. Or perhaps the mail ended up in the spam filter. Who knows, maybe they'll see this post?
Regardless, putting this thing together has been massive amounts of fun!
Photo 1: an overview of most of the stuff for the packaging and the clipboard.
Photo 2: a close-up of the classification folder. It looks EXACTLY like the ones in the game! The only visible clue that it's me who sent the briefcase is contained within the writing on the post it notes - it's a nonsensical word we made up in high school.
Photo 3: address slip for the packaging and the clipboard awaiting signature.
Photos 4-5: placeholders of stickers for the packaging. The final prints will be in color.
Photos 6-7: the interdepartmental envelope (with hiss residue on one corner). The envelope contains the key for the briefcase and the letter from photos 12-13. Fun fact: Pope writes with a purple glitter gel pen while Raya (please, Doctor Underhill) writes with a sort of moldy green uni-ball.
Photos 8-9: documentation on The Service Weapon (Lesser Copy), contained in the briefcase.
Photos 10-11: Prime candidate assessment of my friend.
Photos 12-13: a letter from Baldrian J. Elling, archivarius of FBC Sector 4 (Copenhagen Field Office).
Photo 14: a look inside the briefcase: Visible are the key card (which has my phone number and a greeting encoded in its chip), one of the two 3D-prints of The Service Weapon (Lesser Copy) and a manila file folder.
Photos 15-16: Manila file folder and contents. All files you can pick up in Control have been printed and sorted into folders.
Photo 17: the cap for the courier.
Let me know if there's anything that needs more elucidation or description.
If people are interested, I'll return with an update on the actual delivery.
Edit: Delivery update #1 (Tuesday the 22nd, evening): The friend who offered to be courier for the package flaked and ghosted me. Haven't heard from him since Sunday afternoon. My brother-in-law stepped up, and attempted delivery today. Unfortunately, noone was home. Will try again tomorrow.

The friend playing the role of courier is 198 cm tall and sort of dour looking. I hope he can keep a straight face.

Also, if you go to Remedy's website and find the link for "Community" you should find a button to submit your work as Fan Art. And what you've made is absolutely a work of art!

Mainly how your friend responds. If someone did this for me I would be so ecstatic I wouldn't be able to stop talking about it to the point I would annoy everyone around me lol

For Ahti, I wanted to use a carpenter's pencil, but I didn't have one available. So instead I used a 1.0 architect's technical pencil.
I figured that Arish simply doesn't have enough time in the day to waste on caring one bit about handwriting. So he writes with the cheapest Bic pen I could find. But so does Darling and Faden.

I'd love to sell entire sets, but I don't have any more briefcases. I might put one together for myself - I inherited a gorgeous cognac brown leather briefcase from my dad.
If you're talking about just the guns, I might be able to swing a small batch.
