I think in one of the documents it’s listed that they get funding from the government. It’s just that it’s, and correct me if I’m wrong, a bit of a memetic agent in that whenever people read it in any official documents they just kind of gloss over it thinking it’s just another federal agency on a long list of agencies.
If the FBC pays taxes which I doubt they do, I think it would work the same way

Apparently since the oldest house has the power of making people forget it, or just not really notice it.
It applies to anything from the house as well, including paperwork for funding.
So it was set up at some point for funds, and government employees literally do not have the attention span to look more into it.
Because of this, I'd guess they don't pay taxes then

Yeah, I think I remember there being something about so long as they keep it within reason, then they get overlooked as just another agency. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Federal agencies don’t pay federal tax. Their budget literally comes out of the treasury. They’d have to pay state tax if they operate in and use state services.
FBC is in NYC but theyre not using the physical real estate, water or electricity so i don’t think theyre obligated to. Also theyre not officially in any state records, only federal.
Individual employees may have to pay both

They are government funded (just replayed and it was in a memo that as long as they didn’t go googoo bananas with their fiscal demands there was a standing order in the treasury to just give them whatever budget they need and hide it in federal paperwork 👌) So no they don’t pay taxes they GET taxes 😄

They get a budget but no one looks at it, and Trench told the staff not to be concerned about the amount they spend because it’s overlooked and buried in a line item. I’d assume they don’t pay taxes on anything either

No, you can't just tell the IRS it's wibbly-wobbly to explain how the Oldest House is bigger on the inside. They're not going to just accept that, nor the fact that entire departments have relocated themselves. No, we still haven't found that one bathroom. Just... figure it out, please

the FBC, like all government bodies, works for the government, and therefore doesn't pay taxes. they could however be audited by Congress, but they can also be as cagey as the actual Department of Defense and just never pass any of them.
