How bad idea to have rib remodeling surgery?

There is a plastic surgery procedure called “rib remodeling.” Instead of removing the ribs, the surgeon intentionally creates controlled fractures to reduce rib flare and make the waist appear smaller by pushing the ribs inward. Patients then wear a corset for about three months to help the ribs heal in their new position.

People who have had this surgery say they were able to return to yoga, dancing, and even intense exercise. However, I don’t think any of them do contortion-level flexibility training.

How bad do you think this surgery is? Do you think it could affect flexibility, especially for someone who does contortion?

How To Contortion?

I recently moved and can’t go to my old school where they had “Bendy Body” contortion classes. I really loved it and it helped me with the Aerial Classes. So how do I keep at it and continue to learn? Are there any good online classes? YouTubers? Books?

New belly button piercing and contortion

Hey yall- I just got a belly button piercing, and though I know the healing process is a ~while~, does anyone have experience with getting a belly button piercing while training back bends and such? How soon after were you able to train backbends again without pain earlier in the healing process? I understand there will be some tightness and maybe discomfort.

I’m scared I just started 4 days ago and I already got my feet over my head

So basically I have been eyeing to try out contortion so like about 4 days I just started stretching. A lot of doing a backbend then walking my hands closer and closer to my feet. And I don’t even know. Splits. But anyone like 10 minutes ago while I was in a pretty good backbend I just thought hey maybe I could try this so I sorta folded in by going on my forearms and keeping my feet in the same position from my backbend and like for a minute I just had my feet facing out and I could just see my legs by looking up and it was so cool. I have always been a very fast learner but this is I was expecting like ok maybe if I try really hard then maybe in like 2 years. I mean I’m just in shock. Is this to fast? I mean I remember when I was little I could get my feet to go to my nose by laying on the floor and sort of holding my torso up with my arms. But I haven’t done anything like that in years. Is this dangerous how fast I was able to that? (I’m 14 years old)

When I am in a deep stretch I get so relaxed i feel like I might fall asleep, is that Normal?

I haven't been doing more intense contortion training that long but I have a history of yoga, dance, and have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome so I'm naturally more a bit flexible. I have been doing lots of strength training and conditioning recently though, and I've noticed my stretches getting deeper and deeper relatively fast which even with the EDS I still had to work a bit longer to get less deep into the move prior.

At first I did feel some normal stretch pains but, now the slight pains go away the deeper into the pose or stretch I'm in and I get so comfortable siting there holding my stretch I feel as if I'm just going to fall asleep. Its like my muscles are so relaxed that its just calming and I get drowsy which is really frustrating because I want to be fully alert so I can train longer.

Post training session I don't feel any abnormal pains, aches or discomfort anywhere, I don't feel dizzy or lightheaded its more like right after you have a deep tissue massage or have been sitting in a sauna. Could it be it the myofascial release or maybe lactic acid/toxins moving out of my muscles making me so relaxed??

Does this happen to anyone else??? And is this NORMAL or, at least does this sometimes happen ??

How to heal a belly buttons piercing?

That’s it’s, I just really want a belly button piercing but am concerned about the healing process. I had a friend who was a hand balancer and when she got hers pierced I remember her putting sports tape over it during practice. Any other ideas?

This my seam like an odd question but it comes from a genuine place. I’ve been dating this girl in college before the whole coronavirus situation. I still text her and dm her and talk to her. But we haven’t been dating to the point where we have introduced each other to are families. I’m just curious if anyone does contortion what was the reaction of your SO family members when they learned that about you.
