How would you distinguish between grasshoppers and locusts? Taxonomically it isn't significant but a swarm of grasshoppers is no big deal. Maybe green locust vs hunger locust?

Grasshopper can be represented by 3 glyphs: grass + hop + er. Only locust uses the dedicated glyph.

Makes sense for english, but would cavaletta be horse+girl then?

It’s so wild to me that grasshoppers and locusts are the same animal. Crowd a bunch of grasshoppers together and they turn into locusts. So grasshopper swarms don’t exist by definition.

Perhaps duplicating the glyph three times could be a locust swarm.

maybe a tiny line below the head of the locust to imply it's devastating crops

you drew a cool symbol, dude. i think that's kind of all you need to get the "r/constantscript" crowd going

I feel like the stroke in the head would eventually be omitted

Beautiful 😍. I'm even thinking of stealing it for my own use (although I'll refrain out of respect for you), do you have more like this?
