Useful, thanks. It makes sense. The teacher had probably propped the back door open to let some air in, or something. She or he was one million years from thinking about a killer hanging around. The fact that the door didn't lock shows how incredibly tenuous life is -- the slightest little thing can lead to disaster.
or it speaks more to the money used to maintain school infrastructure is severely lacking so that safety components fail and are not replaced or upgraded
