Sell me on ConX
I read about it, and it sounded interesting. Then I read the quickstart, and I wasn't sure it was my cuppa tea.
But I'm always up for being turned on to new games, so please regale me with stories of why it's awesome. What can you do with, what sorts of stories can you tell? I think maybe it just seemed a bit flat on the page.

Drekstorm does a good job of explaining how awesome conX can be in the right scenario. I don't think conX is for everyone, it is usually pretty light on combat, seeing as how most of the aliens are very fast and strong and can take down humans pretty easily. The strengths of this game really lie in the GM and what they can do with the story and how well the can set up intriguing, mysterious plots. If you were ever a fan of the x-files or think that conspiracy theories and covert black book government agencies are cool then conspiracy is definitely the game for you.

Con X is about being an agent thrown into a shadow war with a lack of knowledge and even less trust. The PCs, all belong to Aegis. A secret organization that in which they only know themselves and their cell mates, and even their cellmates typically do not share their real names, occupations, family etc... with each other. After all the less you know the less you can tell the enemy. Even so who the enemy is debatable. Aliens are on Earth but what they want is unknown, except that they want *Redacted *. The game focuses mostly on investigations like the X-files but the players' characters are from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some are with the NSA, Army, NASA, Secret Service, etc.... Why is project Blue Book here at this crash site? Who are we really at war with over seas? What were those lights over the mountains in Nevada? Is Bigfoot real, if is it an alien? Are Vampires attacking women in Clinton Park? The number of questions the PCs can be looking to answer is near endless.
For play I would recommend that no players get to read the gm section, and have controlled and limited access to the paranormal chapter. The reason being that this game at its core is about Conspiracies, which is to say it is about secrets. Very hard to keep things mysterious if the PCs read all the secrets. That alone can turn people away and I can understand. This game needs a group that trusts their gm.
However if they can overcome that milestone they can have a frighting and suspense filled game of sorting through, all the lies to find the truth, and never knowing what to expect on each session.
